    • Inverse Oil ETF Plunges 26%: What Gives? [view article]
Yes, we should all know what we are investing in. I learned that lesson today when I was forced to blow out the position at a 35% loss. Apr 09 04:28 PM

Your bio says you are a senior in college. Everyone on this board has worked for a "bulge bracket" investment bank. This trade is riddled with intangibles. Nuff said. Mar 13 03:44 PM
    • What's Wrong with this Economic Picture? [view article]
What is better for overwhelming mass of Baby Boomers? Having 3 years of a bear market with a sound recovery or; having a 1 year bear market but with the buying power of their money eroded by 40%. Mar 12 02:19 PM
    • Gas Prices As Percent of Income Are Still Affordable [view article]
Very intelligent point. I would add however that there are additional costs being felt by the general public now, particularly the middle class that weren't as great a portion of GDP in the past (i.e. health care). As a result we should be looking at some measure of discretionary income as a percentage of GDP here. Mar 09 06:01 PM

I have made more money with QID and SDS than I ever did going long any stock or index. Go to cash, ride the crash.

Oh and about the fed cutting interest rates to add liquidity... Clearly that isn't working... Don't you want your parents to enjoy their retirement? Allowing the fed to wratched up inflation will have them on your books and the governments books if the fed isn't careful.

    • Oil Breaking $100 a Barrel - But Why? [view article]
Although you think you're conclusion is smart because of how convaluted it is. It's wrong because its circular. So I will give you something even more convaluted to ponder. Even if your thesis is correct and the economy is not in such bad shape... a few more months of All time high food prices + All time high energy prices + all time high personal debt will invariably trigger a true recession in the United States and will lower the price of oil. Sometimes the market gets it wrong. I got it wrong for most of 2007. Its wrong right here too. Feb 26 05:14 PM

    • Negative Earnings Growth Expected Through 1H08 [view article]
      Dear Bespoke Investment Group,

When will you stop getting it wrong. I can recall not too long ago (2-4 months to be precise) sitting on a huge short position and reading your bullish and rosy outlooks on Q4 07 and 2008. I remember being highly irritated as you carelessly lead your readers into the abyss.

You got it wrong then and you continue to get it wrong in every quixoticly optimistic article you post.

Why don't you just wait until this thing has worked it's way out before you start telling people that everything will be okay in Q2? Seems prudent to me considering how wrong you've been all along.

    • Blackstone: The Stock Buyback Which Isn't [view article]
I think it is a buy here, but it is hard not to feel something sinister is at play at Blackstone. The entire IPO was a fleecing. The management at Blackstone will always do what is right for them. If that interest aligns with the shareholders then you could benefit. The more shares they buy back (through any entity) the more of a chance of that alignment taking place. Jan 13 07:08 PM
