      Earnings Preview: Cisco Systems
Cisco may well remain amazingly strong - we'll have to see. Other than Stifel, who actually tried to assemble some data, the rest of these 'analysts' do nothing more than just take guesses and hope for some accuracy. It's safer these days to completley igonore the wall street boys.

Screw those guys. Let them get a taste of what we experience in the non-financial sector where we are already forgoing bonuses. Let them be thankful they at least have employment.

      Is Fertilizer Starting to Stink?
It makes little sense to evaluate POT based on the ttm P/E. With the price of potash rising so dramatically over last years levels, and with the increased guidance from the company, the business is better evaluated by estimating the forward P/E. On that basis, this stock is a screaming buy.

      Cisco Currently Looks Cheap
Thanks - good article and good data. This stock is definitely undervalued with a overly-compressed forward P/E - I'm looking to CSCO to rise 15%-20% over the next 3-4 quarters.

By How Much Will Apple 'Blow Away' Its 10M iPhone Target?
Geez - you guys are abnormally obsessed with iPhone sales projections. 10M, 11M, 12M....?? Who cares!! The core business engine for AAPL is the MAC. Taking maket share in the PC space, growing MAC shipments, and expanding margins in that sector dwarfs the business potential of the phones. If the analysts paid attention to the core business model, and then factored in pods and phones for what they are (extra gravy!!), then they'd finally get on the right track. At the rate AAPL is growing their core business, any miss on phone projections just isn't going to matter.

Apple: Taking Some Chips Off the Table at Current Prices
Short iPhone inventory? New 3G products? All this speculation over the phones is interesting, but ignores the fractional nature of that business line.

AAPL's big, BIG money and growth is coming from market share gains in the laptop & desktop business. Fundamentally, AAPL is a computer company with an accelerating, expaning business. That alone screams for long term buy. Phones and Pods are just icing on the cake.

      Hold On To RIMM
You all are talking like AAPL's a cell phone company. iPhones are such a small fraction of AAPL's business, it's nonsense to compare the business models next to each other for these two fine companies. AAPL is a computer company - their growth and future lies with taking market share in the world of PCs. That component of their business dwarfs the phone and music businesses - by far. AAPL gets most of their 'hype' from iPhone, but they get their revenue from PCs.

Apple Stock: Still 35% Off at a Broker Near You
At last! A fair artcile by an author who actually mentions the fact that the Macs are the real growth story in AAPL's business model. Thanks for not obsessing over phones and pods. 8M phones, 10M phones, 9.3M phones????? Who cares. It's a fraction of the revenue. The company's balance sheet, growth rate and fundamentals, and market share penetration by the Mac are the reasons for the lofty 12 month estimates. The phones and pods are side businesses for God's sake.

Why iPhone Unlocking is Growing Every Day
Who Cares?? Honest to God, every one of you 'reporters' at Alpha are fixated and obsessed on ipHone conjecture. Dude, the iPhone represents 6% - right, six meager percentage points - of AAPL's 2008 revenue projections. Talk about the Mac - that's the foundation of AAPL's business and phenomenal growth story. The Mac will drive this stock investment - not the iPhone! I really don't care how many of the phones are locked or unlocked. It's not that important to the overall story at Apple.

      HP Stands Almost Alone
"I get the impression that yesterday's rally in tech may have been more about being over-sold or about short-covering " ... or maybe big cap tech is very attractively priced for the value it offers right now. Solid growth continues at ORCL, HPQ, CSCO, AAPL, and so on. The situation is much better than the journalists and so-called 'analysts' depict.
