  • Camden Property Trust: Are The Renters Changing? [View article]
I've seen a clear drop in home ownership aspirations from my parents generation to my adult kids today. The higher income of renters is simply due to a shift in attitudes as many of these renters would have chosen home ownership before. In my area new home ownership by retirees is soaring while new apartments for younger folks can't be built fast enough.

  • How 30-Somethings Can Put Bonds To Work [View article]
Appreciate your brief common sense article. A year ago I advised my son to buy a bond. Twice he's gotten interest payments that were above new issues. We also got an offer on the secondary market and it came in at a nice profit. Very happy with the investment!

Also, if "too many unknowns" means potential bankruptcy issues then bondholders would be ahead of shareholders, making Prospect bonds a better bet in that scenario.

As a retiree coping with ultra low interest rates I have found that credit unions, which are NCUA insured, often have the best deposit rates and promotions, sometimes by substantial amounts. Credit unions are also rated for financial strength by several organizations. A great site to find deals and ratings is

Great article! I can tell you from experience (good and bad) that your analysis and conclusions are accurate. After about a year of trading these ETFs my net is almost 7%, not to mention they can be fun on boring market days.
