    I maybe wrong about this, but aren't MREIT preferred stocks taxed differently than other preferreds? It was my understanding that they were taxed at Corporate Rates no matter who held them. Please correct me if I am wrong.Thank you.

    Aren't these MREIT Preferreds taxed at Corporate Rates ? That has to be taken into consideration when comparing yields. Just asking and "Thanks " for the article, NYMT doesn't get enough coverage. It is the class of the MREITS in my opinion.

    I agree with you MJ the whole sector seems to correlate with the Junk Bond sector which appears to be overheated. It doesn't react exactly on a daily basis but for the past 5 years on a Monthly chart the price moves seem to be pretty similar. It looks like yield-wise it is a good buy now that good be even better if you wait a while.
