Looks to me like this AIG bunch should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. They are not worried about the mess we are in. They are worried about lining their pockets and no concern for anybody else. I dont know where we will finally end up. Looks like every body is crooked and dishonest in this day and time and there is never anything done about it. I am with the writer that says put them all out and take over the system. There is no use for the tax payers to keep paying them to rob us blind. If we dont have leaders that can do something about this, we dont have any leaders. Looks like they are just dragging us down too. We will never get the economy straightened out with such shenanigans as this going on.
Why Economists Have Downgraded Obama to Bush-Plus [View article]
I dont know if Obama was the right man for the job to try to straighten out the mess that this country is in or not but I do know that somebody had to try to do something and it has been so long since anybody has tried to do anything here that it is in such a mess that I dont know if anybody can straighten it out or not. At least, Obama is trying. The thing that I dont understand is: Everybody is so upset because of the stimulus bill. If it was being sent to foreign countries to rebuild something or to have wars for years, everybody would be perfectly happy with that. We, the people of the United States, need to be considered for once. We are on our knees due to the Bushitis and we need help here. Everybody was so critical of Bill Clinton but he, at least, didnt have our country so bad in debt that we have to struggle to be able to see daylight again. In my opinion, he was one of the greatest presidents that we have ever had. At least, people had jobs and were prospering. Look at us not. You cant even buy a job. Give Obama a chance. Surely you didnt expect him to straighten anything out overnight.
Cramer's Mad Money - Trouble in Wynn City (2/2/09) [View article]
I would hate to know that I had to invest in anything that Jim Cramer recommended. Seems to me like he just wants to act like he knows something when he dont. If nobody paid any more attention to him than I do, he would be out of a job. In todays market, nobody knows what to do including Jim Cramer. He is a big blow. Not meaning to be ugly about it, just stating a fact as I see it.
Manitowoc: Purely Speculative... For Now [View article]
Right on dsrtwriter. I am in the same boat as you. I am not giving my stocks to anybody. It is too late to jump out now. One thing about it, when they go back up we will benefit from waiting. I have got too much time invested to go back now. Manitowoc is a good company and they cant help if the bottom has fell out of the economy. Sooner or later, it will rebound. Patience is the policy.

As for as I know, there was no sale of the ice making division. They have, instead acquired another food section with the focus on, not ice, but hot foods. They already have their freezer and ice deal. They make freezers and coolers and walkin freezers and coolers and ice machines and goodness knows, what else. The only sale of anything that I know anything about is their ship yards. Dealing with big ships, you know. No ice to that.
I have never lost faith in Manitowoc. If this economy ever gets turned around, Manitowoc will thrive. I have stocks with them and needless to say, I will be happy if they ever go up.
Sorry you feel that way. I worked for a division of Manitowoc for 26 years and in all of that time everything that they tried turned to money. I have faith in them and I feel like that they will come out on top this time too. It will take a while. Why dont you sell all of your stock and get out? Janie
