Coffee Prices and Starbucks Stock
Contrary to Some Opinions, Apple Doesn't Do Loss Leaders
(zune, anyone? LOL!)
They have 20% of the Smartphone market - and thats with ONE carrier and mostly US sales.
They grew their Mac computer market by 47% from a year ago.
Their market share is growing rapidly.
They have never dropped prices - why should they, they have a superior product line.
Lets not forget that Apple is the ONLY real alternative to the rubbish from Microsoft - the market is theirs for the taking.
They will go to 25% market share in pc's within 5 years.
4 Problems With the iPod Touch
Tomorrow Apple will announce record earnings - and you are babbling on about your inability to control your iPod.
Take the offer from 'infuriousmj' and his 5-year old daughter.
My daughters are a bit older (9 and 12) and they will charge you $150 an hour!
Good luck with your next article - maybe some research and thought this time?
Defending Apple's MacBook Air
Customer service? I know a friend who sent his Dell back 5 times before it worked.
C;unky crap.
Shouldnt be mwntioned in the same space as the smooth and excellent Mac OSX and Macbook laptops, from the cheap Macbook to the 17" High level MacBook Pro which was rated as the fastest laptop to run Windows - LOL!
The Mac has them all beat - just accept it.
Need Netflix Worry Over Apple's Movie Rentals?
You do NOT have to own an Apple TV, but you will need something to store it on, and a Mac or PC to get it.
Scenario: busy people, young kids, 10 at night - d/l a movie and watch it NOW, because they have time NOW, but no time to go to a video store.
As tessant said above, both Netflix and Apple can co-exist for the foreseeable future.
Could iPhone Become the Best Selling Smartphone on the Planet?
Its obvious to those of us (maybe 5 million?!) who have used an iPhone that this is the 'next big thing'.
Its useability is so far beyond the rest its just not funny.
I have had mine for 5 months now, and it has been as solid as a rock, despite my 3rd party apps etc. I might add that I am in Canada on Rogers, so no support - but who needs it?
I know that some people hate this, but: It Just Works!
I fully expect a 16 gig in January, which I will immediately buy, and I expect the next upgrade to include some seriously great apps.
RIMM is a good co., but no-one can live in a vacuum - which is how the cartel of phone makers has been behaving.
Sorry, boys, its time for a change!
As for the 5 million rumor - well why not?
If the Europeans use it, they will buy it.
Maybe not the UK, where they dont like change and have smaller disposable incomes, but Germany France and all the rest? They have big disposable income.
Dont EVER underestimate this remarkable phone - if I had to go back to a Razr or a Nokia, I would be VERY unhappy indeed.
5 million? I'll go for 4 million, with 12 million by end of 2008.
Apple's Right To Sit on Its Cash
With a price close to $200 and rising, Apple shareholders have made plenty of dough already, so I doubt they are complaining.
Dividends are history - the market and the world is much too volatile for that game.
iPhones Sell Themselves in Everyday Tasks
(A) The english are cheap and they dont 'get' the Internet quite yet - they think its some kind of CB radio/advertising thing. They need time - es[ecially if they think the Nokia N95 is worth buying!
(B) Carl is talking about the convergence features of the iphone - I take that as investment advice - Apple will hit $250 in the next 6-8 months - so buy some.
(C) You dont need to tether the iPhone - once you are going, it just runs. I sync maybe once a week or less. All I want is a 16 gig version, then I can load all my music and podcasts. After that, once a month sync would be enough, unless I bought a new CD.
Apple has finally made a device that does it all - they wont stand still, only get better. Did I say $250? make that $300 in 12 months.
iPhones Sell Themselves in Everyday Tasks
I love it so much I have a spare in case something happens to my main iPhone.!
