Avoiding the Cloud Computing Commoditization Death Spiral
[View article]
Cloud computing seems like the next "hot stock" area, but my only concern is that there aren't any pure CC companies trading on the exchanges.
I know that Amazon, Cisco and EMC are just a few companies venturing into CC but they haven't shown it will drastically increase their profits or revenue.
Granted Salesforce.com is one of the few early CC companies out there. But it's been hit/miss with quarterly results.

Obviously TTWO Board and Directors are just holding out until GTA IV comes out and then they are gonna bail. They are probably betting on an 2-3 point increase price when the game gets out.
Banks' Need for Capital is the Real Driving Force Behind Visa's IPO [View article]
Yeah, I feel this Visa IPO is gonna bail out alot of banks and maybe bring the economy out of the rut. Also please note that Mastercard IPO also had a bunch of lawsuit to deal with and it still went up to 200.
There are still some US exchanges left such as Philadelphia, Boston and CBOE. And the big financial companies such as JPM,GS, C are building their own trading platforms to compete against CME.
I would be very cautious about Nvidia earnings too. In the short term news, Nvidia has not yet been able to find a solution GF8000 series' driver problems for Vista. Gamers aren't happy when their games keep crashing. There could be announcement about the problem good/bad. Good, an early solution to the bugs. Bad, a longer wait to the solution and a less chance to buy a computer with Vista and GF8000.
Crysis and Supreme Commander by THQ in '07 will probably be the 2 biggest money generator. Not bad for PC games. The release dates alone would probably move the price of THQI up $.50-$1+.

Gamestop (GME) is defintely the biggest winner of the console wars. Look for THQ Inc. (THQI) to eventually surpassing Activision as the second largest US game company in the future.
