I am firmly in the "long" camp on gold, silver, and any other hard commodity, but I feel any focus on some secret group of banks trying to push down the price of gold and silver is ridiculous. If it were true, eventually an employee from one of these banks with knowledge of these price-altering practices would leave the bank, start a fund of their own to take advantage of the other side of the trade, and then offer credible information of the bank's manipulation. I have never seen anything like this.
Which of these numbers are actually audited? When were the U.S. gold holdings ever audited? Has GLD been audited? If so, then please provide a link. Many people have raised doubts about GLD, and whether they really just have "paper" gold. If anyone has any "official" response, please post here.
