  • Denison Mines: Buy The Drop [View article]
I've read (and laughed) at claims that Denison has it's advantages because it's "listed on the American Stock Exchange."

Take a look at Denison's stock chart over the last year, five years, ten years, or even last MONTH, for crying out loud, and wonder,"Gee, I wonder how much WORSE this company would have performed if it wasn't for the 'advantage' of the AMEX listing?"

    Gimmee a break!

  • Barrick Gold's (ABX -3%) $4.5B-$5.5B charge on the Pascua-Lama project might be only the first of nearly $10B in writedowns, TD Securities says, pointing to the copper segment, where ABX still carries $3.5B of goodwill related to its disastrous acquisition of Equinox Minerals in 2011, and the Buzwagi mine in Tanzania, which has a $747M book value and is vulnerable to weaker gold prices and high operating costs. [View news story]
I hear you, but do you really think those stock options will ever be worth more than a Happy Meal?

  • A record quarterly drop of 23% in gold prices in Q2 to $1,223.80 has exposed miners' massive debts, which have increased to a high of $21B at 55 top gold and silver producers from under $2B in the past 10 years. Gold has now become cheaper to buy than to extract for many firms. If prices stay below $1,300 for over two quarters, S&P reckons downgrades could be on the cards. Barrick Gold (ABX) is particularly exposed with debts of $14.8B. [View news story]
"S &P reckons downgrades could be in the cards?" You mean that might cause the price of gold stocks to actually go down? Tell us you're kidding, S & P!

  • Denison Mines Positioned Strongly For Rebound [View article]
Yawn. Nice article, makes good sense, but isn't this what EVERY uranium company has been saying for at least five years? (Supplies down, demand expected to go up, blah, blah, blah....) And what have they got to show for it: zilch. Also, DNN got a couple of good recommendations on Yahoo Finance, & Motley Crew today, stock traded at almost TRIPLE avg. volume, and stock price rocketed up a whole penny. Not seein' it.
