Troy Jensen is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of nxVenture Capital Ltd, a private investment management firm based in New York City. Jensen founded nxVenture Capital with a proprietary investment model that includes the deployment of an extremely advanced financial technology; operating multiple highly-autonomous investment operations groups with defined, non-correlative investment models; a robust active risk management group with total integration across all of the Firm's operating groups; and finally, nxVenture Capital's private investment firm business model.
Jensen is a lifelong entrepreneur, having founded his first company, Rent-A-Kid, at the age of 12. He was trading from home utilizing two modified Tandy 1000 personal computers by 16, and was an active trader before the term "day trader" came into existence.
Troy received his MBA in Finance from Northern Arizona University's College of Business. Upon graduating, Jensen, who was a very early adopter of digital technology and the Internet, made the decision to take his finance background and enter the then-exploding World Wide Web in 1996. Jensen spent over a decade in Digital Media, ultimately successfully launching three startups.
Jensen successfully migrated to the Clean Technology segment starting in 2009, launching an advisory firm with services and solutions focused on CleanTech startups.
Troy continues to trade actively today. While Jensen utilizes a private, proprietary trading model in his capacity as CEO of nxVenture Capital (which as a rule does not disclose any information to the public beyond the few mandated by financial regulatory agencies), his public commentary on finance and investing focuses on segments that he is passionate about, and has both operational and investment experience in: emerging technologies, specifically digital media, mobile technology, clean energy technology, and unconventional oil & gas production technology; entertainment, media, marketing and communications segments; derivatives; global geopolitical and macroeconomic event-driven trading; and various alternative asset investments.
nxVenture Capital was founded in 2010, and remains a privately-held firm. nxVenture Capital is organized into multiple internal operating groups: private equity, real assets, venture capital, proprietary trading, and alternative assets. nxVenture Capital also operates several consolidated operating subsidiaries globally, across the financial services segment.
Troy's personal passions include flying (he holds a multi-engine high-performance private pilot's license, and flew his first "solo" flight on his 16th birthday), world travel, the literary arts, is a collector of rare books and manuscripts, coins and currency, and is a voracious studier of history. Troy resides in New York City.
Troy has worked with several financial media outlets as a contributing author, and has been a speaker at several financial services and technology industry events.
About nxVenture Capital:
nxVenture Capital operates as a "Private Investment Company" as defined by the Investment Company Act of 1940 (as amended). The Firm underwent a strategic reorganization in 2015, and today only manages and invests the Firm's own investment capital. nxVenture Capital does not manage nor does it solicit outside investors or investment capital, and the Firm does not act in any Investment Advisory capacity to the public.
The Firm's investment philosophy and its business model rely heavily on the Firm's private investment operating model, which allows its investment decisions to remain free of the inevitable pressures that are inherent with the common industry model of managing multiple multiple investment funds capitalized by outside investors. privately held, as well as managing multiple strategically-focused private investment funds. Because all nxVenture Capital investment management operations are capitalized only with the Firm's funds.
nxVenture Capital relies heavily on its advanced and highly-proprietary Financial Technology. As part of the Firm's August 2015 strategic reorganization, the firm's internal FinTech Group was spun off, with nxVenture Capital retaining a large stake in the new entity.
