I see that all of us bulls are alive and well and are still holding our AAPL stock, awaiting the dividend to come. If you are charitist and use the 90 day moving average to watch the AAPL price hover above and periodically make solid contact with the 90 ave., then you can see that soon the contact will again occur This will be slightly above the 555 mark. Then all movement is up, barring a second recession. I have an iPad copy (photo) of the chart, but SA is not compatible with the iPad 1.

Terra, You said: "Much ado has been made about the reasons these investors will sell their shares. The main reason stems from an increase in capital gains taxes they will incur if they sell after Dec. 31.. " If the investors of the IPO are locked in at a high price, why would they worry about a higher capital GAIN tax when they are only getting a LOSS? Perhaps the stock will rise above 38 by the end of the year?

Esol, I have been a Mac user since 1988 when I purchased a $5000 MAC II, color screen and Image Writer. WOW what an experience! Hope some of you are still up. It took hours to read. You can always tell when Investors really know the Apple products. It's all about product experience. As a former government employee, we were required to buy MSFT Operating System products, usually Compac. Then, of course, the government sued MSFT for being a monopoly. I hope the government does not require iPhones or iPads. Ray

Jkirk3279, your scenario was not only very entertaining, but some of the Sci-Fi in it will probably come true. Facial recognition on the iPad! Wonderful! Using the FaceTime app in my video calls, my iPad could tell me who just called me. After seeing a video of the huge array of digital storage space set up for the iCloud in North Carolina, I think that the last announcement by Steve Jobs for the iCloud could be a big success in a few years, though I hate giving up my DVD/CD SuperDrive, etc. These devices would have Wi-Fi access no doubt. Well, AAPL seems to be forming a plateau at 521. I still think the target is 660 by Christmas. P.s. Why can not SA allow my picture to be entered from an iPad. I found the "choose file" box but it was dimmed for any access.

Thanks for info, Plec785. That's the right kind of company for whom a person would love to work.
When the company I worked for began their IPO, I was allowed to buy shares at a small discount and hold them for a certain period of time. Another company then made an offer to buy the stock at a much higher price. I wish that I had purchased more shares at a really low price when the company still was in private hands. The company was BDMI which was bought out by TRW, which was bought out by Northrop Grummen.

Yes it was very disappointing , I was hoping you were right. Right now I was thinking about getting a new iMac or something. Maybe they will lower the price a bit, but there goes the higher margins.

Because of all the averaging going on, perhaps the average of 13.97 and 11.63 applies. That would be 12.8 plus or minus 0.6 (5% is a reasonable error).

Just got stock in MSFT in anticipation of their next move. Already have too much in AAPL, but plan to unlad DELl to cover some AAPL capital gain. I think that Apple will try to reach 660 by end of year, but I won't bet on it. This iPad keyboard is a lot easier than my iPhone. I hope my 81 year old wife doesn't see this message.
