Sirius Investors: Decline in OEM Take Rate Something to Watch [View article]
The consumer is not going to have enough money to buy anything but essentials. They certainly are not going to be willing to pay for radio just so that they can hear U2 or Sinatra whenever they like. Bailout or not, the autos industry is in for a world of hurt. Credit is the issue, and we have only seen the beginnings of it. You think housing was bad? Wait until the credit card defaults start en mass. Americans did not know the consequences of imprudent borrowing. La de da. They are about to learn.
Hmmm. With all this talk about someone manipulating the stock of SIRI...maybe it's Mel who is doing the manipulating. He sure would like to buy you out for 85 cents/share.
Is Sirius XM Stock Being Manipulated? [View article]
I have seen a thousand reasons why Sirius keeps on going down. Now a thousand and one. Has anyone considered that maybe satellite radio is not a profitable idea? No? Well maybe you should.

Hmmm. I thought you said the stock was going to zoom after the merger? Was XM/SIRI not conducting business during the wait period for the merger? And if they were did you hear anything but good news from them? I see your upset about the possible restraints as a precondition to the merger. Let me see if I too can play Ring Around the Rosie with some last Friday of the month thoughts of my own. These companies are about to be granted a monopoly, a monopoly, as in no-competition-I- can-do-what-ever-I-ple... monopoly. That's right, just me, without any fear of a competitor undercutting me in quality, cost or selection. I don't know, I'd love to be the only beer vendor at the football game, or the only newspaper in the country. Unrestrained, of course, by any conditions of how I conduct my business. Oh, I promise I will print nothing but the truth and never raise the prices of my brew unless..well, unless I want to. I will be the most benevolent of monopolies--you can be sure. My only care will be how well I serve my clientèle. Just like public schools and the post office.

How many stations can someone listen too? In other words, who is going to take a full subscription at full price over ala carte when they are only listening to 2 or 3 stations in the spectrum. I think the average revenue stated here is way too optimistic.
