I am purely a main street observer. I notice that the Mall's, Car sales and General stores are slashing prices. (deflationary move). Food prices are on the rise probably because of rising transportation costs caused by the dependance on foreign oil.(Inflationary move) The question is for us to observe and decide if we will be facing Hyperinflation or Deflation and act accordingly. If our own demise is Deflationary, then rapidly falling prices will will worsen the job market and cause a recession. This should cause the Fed to step in and adjust the money supply which will cause an end to Deflation. But If the Fed over adjusts, then we could face Hyperinflation on the rebound from recession and the Zimbabwe syndrome.

I personally do not follow charts. I am an observer, and what l have observed is also startling me. The malls are basically serving pizza slices, few people carrying packages. The sales go on and very few takers. I notice cars with new plate tickets on the rise indicating surge in replacing cars, I also notice that huge numbers of V8 engined cars up for sale daily on Craigs List. I also notice growing numbers visiting Pawn shops. Grocery prices on the rise and few lines at check out. I see restaurants over crowded.

I was laughed out of Barclays Bank in 1965 for asking the Manager to buy gold with the sale price of my house and savings. The tears rolled down his cheeks and I walked out ashamed !!! Most of my assests these days are in gold and silver and foreign currencies. I would love to hear from you on the future of Silver as l believe this is also a future play overlooked by many.
