Though Newer Sources of Power Are Being Built, Coal Remains a Cheap BTU [View article]
Great point, and well made with comparison of power costs for coal and other energy fuels. Yes, the hypocrisy runs deep in the global warming, oh wait, since the last decade is absent global warming, the alarmist have switched to climate change. Those of us out trying to protect the greatness of American have our hands full, with those who want us to run out of power. Sadly, if they get what they want, what is left of our industrial production will simply close up shop and move to Asia. Thanks for great article.
H.R. 1835: Legislation for Natural Gas Transportation [View article]
This is great news Fritz, keep at it.
One question, where is the legislation to increase availability of NG in North America? Do you think for a moment that the twin sisters from CA will vote for increased NG production in CA? How much will Henry the socialist Waxman get behind increasing NG production in CA or anywhere in the USA?
Fritz, this is a part of a great story, the remaining part, and a necessity to our success, is increased production in the USA and Canada, the other part is nailing shut the Cap and Trade energy disaster. Thankfully, with the recent global cooling trends, we may be able to head off the economic disaster called C & T. Thanks Fritz, my emails to Congressman Campbell were just sent.
Beaten Down Natural Gas Likely to Stay Down, Making Producers a Short [View article]
Yank, absolutely, CNG is clean burning available in USA, priced in USA (not global OPEC), lets get those drill rigs back to work and start powering our transportation fleets with clean burning and cheap CNG, thanks Yank.
Sadly, with Detroit now being run out of Washington, we will probably not have the choice of purchasing a low cost CNG powered vehicle, instead we will be offered an expensive EV fueled by coal powered electricity, with battery's of questionalbe lifetimes. Hurray for Global warming, the demise of America's middle class.
YANK; "The other wild card is does nat gas figure into Pres. Obama's energy/transportation reform proposals? I mean if the nat gas is there why not use it to power vehicles? The US Post office, FEDEX, and UPS have been using nat gas powered vehicles for years without any problems.", Right On Yank, ATT just announced their plans for a $500Million purchase of CNG cars and trucks from Ford".

Oil Defies Bearish Sentiment: Will Natural Gas Follow? [View article]
Sean, you said nothing about the steep and massive increase in energy taxation that Obama is going to impose on energy company's and America's people. Hence, with NG a regional fuel, its priced to meet a strongly slumping economy in Obama's America. But, oil, a global fuel, is being priced to meet future growth in the more free economy's, namely BRIC's. OObama's energy taxation plans will not only hurt Americas energy industry, but its people and the broader economy as well.

Hey Fritz, what are your ideas about state initiatives? In CA, we are initiative crazed, current one written by liberal Dems in state legislature with their allie Arney, raises state income tax to over 10%, sales taxes, even new taxes on tickets for the Sunday afternoon ball games, shameful. But, initiatives only need signitures and then financial backing to be competitive. I think your material for NG fueled transportation systems is the place to start. As well, some form of drilling initiative for NG in CA with rebates to the people of CA, might have a chance. You might start with an initiative like ATT's, only sub state of CA, where you might mandate that 50% of all state vehicles be NG fueled over coming years. I'm trying to dream about something good, given the essential collapse of our state and fed gov's. stay with the NG theme, thanks.
A Natural Gas-Centric Revitalization Program [View article]
Fitz, thanks again, your thinking about NG fueled transportation system bodes to be a major positive force for America, and I support you soo strongly for that. Having said that, we are probably on opposite ends of the political spectrum, as I did not expect Obama to be much different than the recent Pres Bush, who was an equally big spender. Both are from the spend, borrow and spend more molds, except, Obama adds the populus "higher taxes on the rich", who got rich, not through hard work, but through expolitation of the poor, hence the need for income re-distribution. Still, your mantra for NG is laser focused on a major prospect for American greatness, which we all should have as our focus. thanks again, stay with it, I too like the idea of state initiative, CA is my state??
Bullish Picture for Energy Once Economy Picks Up [View article]
when will American Leaders (Obama) wake up to the key importance of natural gas to our transportation fleets? Its insanity, American sits on an abundant supply of NG, its much cleaner burning than gasoline, its cheap and priced in the No. American markets (not OPEC), and every eq. NG gallon we burn in a car, truck or bus is just another gallon NOT bought from OPEC. This technology is mature, does not have the risk and high expense, nor does it need a bailout from Congress (read your tax dollars) before Detroit can bring NG powered cars to the public. Heck, as always, the private sector has already begun to make there move, with ATT allocating $500Million to purchasing NG powered vehicles from FORD, yes an innovative American auto maker. But of course, who would expect the left leaning, frozen in climate change, Obama gov to push policy's that would insure low cost transportation and fuels for the American middle class? ATT has made is move, mean time Obama wants $5/gallon gas, to slow climate change, seems like the private sector is moving to help the middle class, while gov is moving to help the Gore-elites!
Protectionism on Immigration Will Hurt Our Economy More than We Realize [View article]
illegal immigration (both Hispanic from the south and Asian from the our west) is at epidimic levels. Our public education system in CA, has been decimated by illegals. If you want to argue about highly educated immigrants, then first close the borders to illegal immigration of millions of poverty stricken and un-educated Hispanics from MX. Not to even mention the invasion of our southern border by Mexican drug warriors. Lets get our priority's straight, close the border, put out the word that illegals immigration is "ILLEGAL", then we will talk about immigration of highly educated business leaders.
Increasing Tax Share vs. Income Share Gap [View article]
I think the more interesting and provacative point is taken for the top 10% earners, who are trending to paying close to ALL of the income tax revenues. the 10% group paid; 50% in 80's 60% in 90's, 70% in 00's, moving towards 80% under Obama's policy's of confiscation. The point here is that we are quickly moving towards a point where ONE in ten workers are paying for near all of government. At what point does this group (essentially) own our so called Democratically elected government. What should the other 90% (essentially paying nothing) expect from government, if they pay close to ZERO tax? This is the point!!

some how this article, should have been a conversation with a close friend at the bar over a series of strong drinks. Railing against S Forbes on economic policy's M2M is not the authors strong point. Maybe she should try her hand at writing sit com's, like Cheers, the bar seen and lots of gloom.
M2M is clearly undervaluing the assets of much of our financial industry, as was better said, by mplaut and bookvalue, thanks.
