  • Why Is Congress Agnostic About Natural Gas? [View article]
Fritz, JC from CA, regards your thinking of how to promote NG,
Did you see Special edition in Wall Street Journal this week, must have been Tuesday, 8 Sept 09,
    All promoting Nuclear energy in USA, It was a "small", maybe 5 pages, special edition, covered the whole message of promotion;
concept is perfect for NG, transform article to NG, your agruments for NG are far more compelling than the nuclear arguments,
when I return from traveling, currently in NY, I am going to contact the author of the nuclear article and challenge to write one on NG.
Best to you Fritz, keep up your excellent work and attitude.

  • Stay Away from U.S. Treasuries - Invest in Energy Stocks [View article]
A1234, you are right about the coming collapse of the Obama dollar, with Trillion $$/year borrowing, and FED buying up 30yr treasury's, sure the US dollar is expected to weaken alot in coming years.
Why not cut this extrodinary explosion in gov spending, infact, if the economy seems to be getting on track, why not cancel the "Stimulus", that would cut the deficit a cool Trillion over the next year or so.
Then, with NGV's and a strengthen dollar, at least relative to a collaspe, America's cost of energy will be lower, AND we will be buying our energy from ourselves, paying American salary's instead of OPEC's bank accounts,
And please dont forget where much of the $$ that funds ME terrorist organizations, PS, from American car drivers.
So, lets buy an American fuel, NG.

Mike F, You are sooo right on the point, as the Obama dollar collapses, oil will skyrocket, and imported oil will crush whats left of the American economy,
If however, we have moved towards NGV's which run on American NG, at least we will be paying ourselves for our transportation fuels.
Mike, I am completing agast at your opposition, clueless, senseless, are as mild as I can get. Having said that, if this is your strongest opposition, then stay at it, you are a hands down winner in this contest.

  • Is There Enough Natural Gas? [View article]
Fritz, one last thought, have you contacted the NG pipeline co's, how do they fit into this construction? They might have thoughts about how to get NG around in the USA, and as well how to safely compress it for use in transportation vehicles. thanks again.

Mike Fritz, keep up the excellent work, I sense that you need a high power forum, than this investor focuses one.
Your biggest challenges are political, as the investor community will never set a foot into this plan with the current administration, which is soo overly negative on fossil fuels. These fuels are the life blood of America and will stay so for decades, but the overly negative talk, think last week when Al Gore had the Congressional "leadership" on their knees, what investor would risk capital to move to such a brilliant plan, as yours is.
Yes, Fritz, you are constructing a plan for America, which in the right political environment would invigorate the American economy for decades, but sadly sits on the wrong side of the current political fence.
If you want a political supporter, try Newt Gingrich and his American Solutions site for a starter. It is a conservative site so you will be thoroughly challenged. But Newt is very opened minded and a brilliant debator.
Best of luck Fritz, how can we all help?

  • Why Is Oil Trading at $53 When Supply and Demand Is So Bearish? [View article]
Hey Fritz, what are your ideas about state initiatives?
In CA, we are initiative crazed, current one written by liberal Dems in state legislature with their allie Arney, raises state income tax to over 10%, sales taxes, even new taxes on tickets for the Sunday afternoon ball games, shameful.
But, initiatives only need signitures and then financial backing to be competitive. I think your material for NG fueled transportation systems is the place to start. As well, some form of drilling initiative for NG in CA with rebates to the people of CA, might have a chance. You might start with an initiative like ATT's, only sub state of CA, where you might mandate that 50% of all state vehicles be NG fueled over coming years.
I'm trying to dream about something good, given the essential collapse of our state and fed gov's.
stay with the NG theme, thanks.

  • Time to Fill Up on the Strategic Petroleum Reserve [View article]
in fact, it is at the rate of 19 lbs of CO2 per gallon of gasoline burned?
a gallon of water weighs 8#'s, i suppose gas has similar density, so one gallon of gas weighs lets say 10 #, and when burned in an internal combustion engine, that produces 19 #'s of CO2???
How could you possibly produce more CO2 by weight, than you consume in gasoline? dont forget, air is mostly N2 and some O2 and very little CO2 is naturally in air.
I question how you get these figure?
thanks for being accurate with your figures.

How long will it be before the greenies put a carbon tax on gas??

Cars are one of the biggest user of oil, hence they must be contributing to CO2 build up in th atmosphere, hence look out for the carbon tax.
It is also coming in your electric bill, as greedy politicians begin taxing utilities emitting CO2, read coal and natural gas fired power plants. These polluters of CO2 will be taxed for their carbon emissions and those taxes will be passed right on to the homeowner and factory and office as a new and major cost increase.
Just what we need in a recession, fast becoming a major one, more taxes. Say good by to more jobs as these taxes start hitting the economy.

  • Oil: The Inconvenient Truth [View article]
appreciate your article on energy and related policy issues.
One gets an uneasy feeling seeing a majority of our off-shore oil reserves smack in the middle of hurricane alley.
We are so vulnerable to a 100 year storm, CAT 5, taking out 1/2 of our oil/gas production, small as it is.
Anyone with any experience in risk management, would immediate decide that other off-shore areas should be incorporated into our production fields.
CA, Alaska and the east coast come immediately to mind.
The other point is that we dont drill in CA for fear of a leak, and we have not ever had a CAT ? storm. Given that the rigs in the gulf survive CAT 2 or 3 storms every year and leaking is hardly an issue, the hesteria in CA is much to do about nothing, given todays rig technology.
Finally, it turns that NOT drilling in the off-shore of Santa Barbara, CA, causes oil leakage from the oceans surface that would end if the reserves were taped and the pressure releaved. To the point where the locals, who are hardly "drill friendly" have actually voted to have production be turned back on and the pressure releaved to elimenate leaking from the ocean floor.
    thanks for article.

  • Recession? I've Got a Solution [View article]
Sterman must be commended, as an engineer, the CTL refinery is a no-brainer, even if it only moved 1/4 of our energy dollar flow away from the Middle East, and was paid to an American Energy Industry and its employee's. These jobs will not be outsourced. Don't let the warming croud hold this back, in 5 or 10 years, they won't be able to explain the credible data that the earth has cooled. It is already starting, as solar evidence is a leading indicator. Stay with CTL, the American Energy Industry and its American employee's.

  • The Iranian 'War Premium' Vanishes from Crude Oil [View article]
I would have liked to see you address the combined effects of war markups and interest rate cuts on the price of oil. Very recent financial news, namely coordinated funding by major central bankers of Billions into the global banking system. Now, it is not just the US dollar, but also the EU is injecting liquidity. This boads for significant upside in oil prices, as do the supply/demand tensions. However, perhaps the war markup is diminishing. No airstrikes on Iran, Iraq is stabilizing, the positives, while the 1/2 century old Isreal/Palistine conflict and Lebonon are the negatives. Still the major trend in the war markup may have the effect of reducing the price of oil over the coming few years.
