HSBC to Takeover Failed Taiwanese Bank; Eyes Shanghai Listing
I hope the buyout goes through. I live in Taiwan and would enjoy the convenience of having an HSBC global/international account. This would beat trying to set one up in HK.

      How Much Liquidity is Enough?
Recession is certain. Fiat money creation or liquidity as some like to call it produces inflation. "Liquidity" will not be able to "stare down the bear" that is coming. In fact, I would expect a complete realignment if not a redenominated dollar in the future. It simply cannot hold up under the wait of the current credit crisis that is fast becoming global.

In the end, I foresee a global electronic "currency" needed for buying and selling. The recent move to merge America with Mexico and Canada as unionized trading partners is already happening creating further consolidation of regions in order to create a GLOBALIST economy. I would not be so concerned EXCEPT that the common citizen will have no say in these matters. Say "Good Mornin' to a One World Government.

GLD: The Common Man's Sovereign Wealth Fund
Gold is ALWAYS a safe haven during times of global inflation. For countries to counter the damage done to their export markets due to a weakening U.S. dollar, these countries will PRINT (fiat money) money in order to BUY dollars thereby mitigating the strength of their own currency. Of course, ALL fiat money creation is the SOURCE of INFLATION. Global inflation is growing fast and gold WILL continue to shine for years to come.
