  • Apple: Here's Why The Stock Will Take Out $140 Before The End Of May [View article]
Although I appreciate your article, and of course most everyone's opinion; can we all agree on one thing?
The market is... What "WE" as investors make of it.
If enough investors Buy, rather than Sell, the stock goes up. And, of course the opposite causes it to go Down. Simple... However, since there are thousands of US investors doing their personal thing... none of us have much control either way.
    My story is also simple.
Several years back, I just happen to be in a restaurant and overheard a conversation that gave me goose bumps. And I'm not the type of man that gets GB. Two men were chatting about APPL. At the time, I didn't know who they were, I only listened.
Luckily for me, I was able to truly go into
a newly established margin account. Well the rest is history for me. Able to buy APPL at pennies on the dollar I went crazy and purchased thousands of APPL shares. Why was I a part of the many that sold a few shares the past few days. I wanted to buy a new vehicle for cash.
Yet, every time I sell, I'm very aware of the CG's I'll have to pay come tax time. And giving to charities doesn't help that much. All in all, I believe, hope as well, APPL does for YOU all what it has for me and my family.
I wish I were young again as you all.
My bottom line is that as long as APPL has TIM COOK, I will not ever worry.
Nor should you all. Just Hold and/or Buy.
    May your dreams come true!!!

  • Holy Smoke - My Favorite Idea That Everyone Knows But Doesn't Understand [View article]
Thank you, Rochelle. I've owned hundreds of shares of the Altria Group since the early 60's.
Of course, now, I'm fortunate enough to own in the mid-range thousands.
Yes, I'm a knowledgeable smoker. Would I stop? Obviously not. Why? Best way to relieve some daily market stress.
Luckily, I'm healthy in most every way.
I not only 'love' MO's dividends, I crave them.
They put two children through college, eliminating loans.
They will pay for my three grand children's education over the next 10 - 15 years.
They've allowed my wife and I to take 2 long cruises, suites I might add, per year.
I could go on and on.
My experienced Advice to young investors today is buy MO, and VGR. Stay away from all the hype when it comes to investing in RAI. Buy as often as you can, as much as you can; reinvest your dividends for as long as you can and truly Enjoy your profits during your retirement years.
Again, thank goodness there are intelligent, kind, and insightful people ins You, Rochelle.
    Go get 'em, tiger!

  • Will Google +1 A Dividend? [View article]
Stock split, smart move. Would be in APPL's league.
    Great comparison!!!
Ad rev only grows and grows.
Would like to see Google but Twitter.
    Before some other co does.
    Twitter's founder/CEO ain't no micro-manager.
I'm heavy into Equities. Too many strong co's on the NYSE that pay and pay mucho Div's. Yet, I need both. All the 'hype' has now snuggled with MSFT.
Mark my words, MSFT is merely 'hype'. Sorry Bill and Warren, but you're both in the 20th century. Noes the yime to look toward the 22nd Century, even if we can't live to see it. Your offsprings will. And if you don't have any offsprings yet, either sell your Soren or get your butt out there and make some. Our population is deteriorating day by day. Oh, and buy some of my favorite stocks while you're at it. Sin Stocks; they're defensive animals and the best.

  • iStar Financial's (STAR) CEO Jay Sugarman Discusses on Q1 2015 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
I lost $241,911.00 betting on this company in late 2007. And Jay Sugarman's comment was, " I can't believe what happened".
It went from $52.01 down to $4.95 per common share.
And Jay Sugarman's kept his job. Go figure?! He should have been replaced in 2008; but he wasn't. Why? Answer that one.

  • Consider General Motors If It Comes Down Some More [View article]
Stupid remark, "I think GM will do right by their customer"... They (GM) showed their true colors when they ended up with these 'claims' against them. Killing and hurting so many of their customers. Car companies are not policed well at all.
Is it their labor union personnel? Is it their plant supervisors poor oversight? You tell us! Dollars and cents don't make up for any victim's demise, et cetera. Will there ever be criminal charges brought up against a car company that kills a customer? You write about the wrong things. The automobile industry is worse than the tobacco and fast food industry combined.

Made my money with RAI with all their splits. Sold and invested in MO. Am still quite happy with MO, since I began with MO just before their splitting PM.
Following the fundamentals, rather than listening to all naysayers, Mo will be sharing much greater dividends in the months years to come. Although, they still are in debt to the tune of 14 billion. RAI on the other hand will struggle with their eventual debt acquiring LO. Glad to review any disagreements though. Any takers out there?

  • Looking Beyond Altria's Dividend [View article]
    Debt; 14 Billion (MO).
18 billion debt was incurred when MO bought UST, Inc.
Too bad Altria doesn't split out UST perhaps it would go up in the 60's.
Until the big 'M' becomes legal in the USA (don't hold your breath), MO will remain a so-so holding. Own 20K shares, waiting to sell 1K at a time 'if' it ever goes up gain.

  • Philip Morris: On The Way To New Highs After Blowout Quarter? [View article]
I own and prefer Mo, lot of it.
Less to buy, and a fair (80% of profit) dividend. Also own Pm, via their split back when, however 'brown paper packaging' may spread throughout non USA distribution.
    Nevertheless, 5% is still 5%.
Get Buffet to buy tobacco and the industry will explode upward. And while you're at is get CALPER to wake up.
They should be owners of PM. Their retirees would love it if the big 'C' would buy PM.
