Red Acre applies value investing principles to mirco-cap and binary event investing.
Our Chief Investment Officer is Rajesh Patel. Prior to Red Acre, Rajesh was a Member of Technical Staff with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, (MIT) Lincoln Laboratory where he analyzed the strategic value of emerging technologies to enhance the capabilities of the U.S. Military. Rajesh holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of California, Davis, a Master's in Environmental Science from Rice University and bachelors degrees in both Physics and English from the University of Connecticut.
Red Acre's investment style is to look for opportunities where the intrinsic value of a stock is likely to go through a dramatic transition due to some future event about which we can predict an outcome relying on our research and due diligence experience. We are patient investors and are comfortable with having time horizons of several months to over a year for our investment thesis to fully play out.
Invest. Manage risk. Communicate. Educate yourself. Make profits. .
My name is Todd Johnson. I’m a family man, sports fiend, health nut, technology buff, long-time stock investor, and a very lucky mountain climber, all of which has shaped my philosophy as a professional investor for the last 30 years. As my interests might suggest, I am always looking for the upside while striving to minimize risks.
My new passion, which I have realized through DividendLab.com project, is helping other investors learn more about investing; investing in stocks and other assets that are subject to wide price swings can actually enhance their returns when the right investment strategy is applied. To that end, I read company 10k and 10q statements so they can skip them. I compile and analyze the market research that isn’t always at their fingertips. And I don’t make any investment recommendation without committing my own funds first, which is the purest form of accountability.
Energy is such a pervasive resource that it affects every single human endeavor.
Energy has become fundamental to the very basic functions of contemporary civilization. And it is imperative to the future growth, prosperity, social stability and security of nations around the world. Without energy, everything comes to a grinding halt.
Today energy is at a crossroads. Like a lit fuse, a catastrophe of immeasurable proportion is looming.
Even though the energy crisis is beginning to make its way into the media limelight, very few people are aware of the true scope and magnitude of this crisis. With today's seemingly abundant energy supply, it can be difficult for us to imagine an energy-limited world. Nevertheless, the impending energy crisis is coming.
And like the ancient phoenix, a great opportunity will rise from the ashes of this crisis. There will be those, like Energy and Capital subscribers, who will be given the foresight and vision to exploit the commercial opportunities of a post-oil economy.
