Fortress Investment Group: Depressed and Misunderstood

Good column. I averaged down on Fortress at $15.96 and noticed an insider, Richard Haass, bought more at a similar price.

One note about the management fees, from the conference call: Fortress management said that, as a rough metric, they tend to earn 2% net on assets under management (taking into account the management fee and percentage of profits). With assets under management growing at ~50% per year, this prefigures earnings growing in the near-term at a similar rate.
