Microsoft's Xbox Beats Out All Other Game Consoles [View article]
Not sure about outselling the Wii, and it is having increased competition with the newly released PS3 Slim. I own a 360. I have purchased two of them actually. I also pre-ordered multiple games you listed. I would like to see Microsoft start taking on some of the streaming media devices out there (Popcorn hour, etc..). Open up the support and allow me to play whatever I want on the system. If they can turn it into a media server(ish) type system, and market it correctly (non-gamers), I think they can sell many many more to fit those peoples needs. Also, open up the online game store to other countries. I am living in Korea, and I can't purchase a game via their online store without going through a proxy server back in the states. It's annoying! Doubt I will go long M$ as a result, but with Windows 7 (great product as I have used the beta), I might inch in slowly at some point in the near future.
Mobile Market Share Shifts: Nokia Down 11% in a Day on Loss [View article]
Umm, did you do any research for this baseless article?
1. Nokia has not shown a pattern of innovation recently. It's wireless technology is not particularly breathtaking and the phones themselves have not changed much since the late 90s.
Nokia N900 and N920...
2. They are a hardware company, not a software company. Mobile phones are about having a great OS with great applications. That means a core competency is software. Google (GOOG), Apple (AAPL) and even Microsoft (MSFT) will eat their lunch.
Maemo - No phone OS can compare to this right now.

"Gamers can sell back or trade their games at Gamestop for other titles, which gives the company an advantage over retailers like Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN)"
Amazon has this capability. I own GME, but i am just saying, you can send in your used games and get credit towards new ones. It's a mailing service so you lose that "instant" trade, which is why I think GME has the leg up on that.
Last time I checked our country is currently founded on technology, and it's not going to change. How do you think they can get hybrid seeds, etc.? Relative to the past, technology, isn't that over priced, and relative to the market, it's not too bad either.
10 Banks 'Guaranteed' to Survive and Prosper [View article]
I saw something pretty interesting the other day if this goes to show banks need help. I was looking at purchasing something using my Best Buy credit card to take advantage of the 3 year no-interest offer they had. I haven't used my card in several months. Well, I logged online and was surprised that my credit limit showed $304. It used to be around $5k. I called them, and they said with the new economy that a person has to use their account every 120 days or they will snap up your credit line or cancel your card.....are they that short of money to lend? I decided to pay cash instead.

Same reason I am waiting until Buffett kicks the can. I will pick up BRK at that time.
What's your thoughts on the future of sales tax on the internet. At some point, with all this money we are spending, i assume that will be looked at as a possible solution to get extra money. If amazon is taxed, their no different than anyone else on the street (after various rebates and what not). I love em, and I shop there a lot, I just can't own a Blue chip with a PE of 34
SmartStops: Approach the market in what way? It was valued at a reasonable price in relation to their earnings growth.... It's not their fault everyone freaked out and started selling everything. Heck, they threw the house out with the bathtube, not just the baby. It was a better valuation than Yahoo, BIDU, etc... Yes, you're correct, people should utililze stops and protect thier profits, but to call their approach ridiculous isn't fair. What's happening now is ridiculous. The market, not their trading styles are ridiculous. Offer advice, not just negativity...

The loan-to-deposit ratio in Hong Kong (ETF: EWH) is 57.4%, in China (ETFs: FXI, PGJ) p 65%; Indonesia 72% (IF); the Philippines 73%; Malaysia 74% (EWM), and Taiwan 78% (EWT). The loan-to-deposit ratios in India (INP), Korea (EWY) and Thailand (THD) all exceed 100%.
If I am correct, doesn't the higher ratio mean the banks rely on borrowed money? If this is the case, aren't these historically high? or at least high enough to be worried with all the credit crisis going around?

I don't agree with GME. Gamers aren't subject to the same people as clothing stores. Heck, I saved $50 by purchasing the new starwars game and staying home for the evening and not going out on the town.

You forget these guys more than likely don't care, because they can afford to purchase million more shares and cost average down enough to not bother worrying.
