  • Obama appoints Ebola czar [View news story]
IAgree--------I am through with commenting on Obama and his Ebola.

Have you noticed that "Obama and Ebola" have exactly 5 letters of the English alphabet, A little twist on similarities. The pronunciaton is similar in rhythmn.

No more thinking about Obama and Ebola. To do so accomplishes what the progressives want ------to sap a person's time.

    We talk about the hospitals such as in Texas; however there is another level of concern;

Rehabilitation centers------and nursing homes-----mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, wives etc. are in these places. Are they prepared for an epidemic of Ebola or any other illness. Some maybe-----mostly I think not.

No need to respond to this comment.

Certainly it is a timely article in terms of stocks.

I don't care who Mr. Obama is and whom he has appointed; I believe that he is wrong in his action in making a political appointment .

This is a medical question much as the Spanish Flu of the early 1900's and the discovery by Salk of the vaccine for Polio.

Start with such places as Mayo Clinic, -----------please no more CZARS. This is America, not a communist nation.

Agree. The timing for Obama coming on the Ebola train is timed just before the election in November.

Obama canceled his fundraising trips and I presume his golf trips to gain maximum effect for convincing vulnerable people that he is doing something about Ebola.

Too bad Mr. Obama, you are too late.

Congress should take action and eliminate the appointment of your
    non American Czar concept.

Where in our Constitution is there any mention of America having CZARS?????.

  • Is It Time To Just Give Up On Gold? [View article]
I would like to see you and others who title their articles to get away from the dump and pump titles or the pump and dump titles.

One of the things I learned in college was to study the professor, then you will know what would be on the final exam. I noticed that you as a market commentator publish your own newsletter. Part of the final exam is selling more newsletter subscriptions, just as Siri sells subscriptions to their paid service.

There is another analysis that many appear to be ignoring------that is the one that focuses on the overall economic and political environment in America and the world. Those are real events that affect the market and cannot be ignored.

The elections nationwide are coming in early November.

Hey, gee thanks for all of the advice.

    Also alternatives for the browsing.

Have never bought Apple; maybe the time is right.

  • The Kool-Aid Is Evaporating For Sirius And Pandora [View article]
As I recall there is a point at about $2.97/2.98 , that could be a buy point. I thought it might go there when I bought at $3.11. I did not sell on the move to $3.63 etc. I am looking for a higher price on the long term .

Siri is here too stay imo with or without Liberty; about Pandora I have no idea.

    Famous last words.

  • Fiat Chrysler Automobiles prep for IPO and beyond [View news story]
    It is a strange combination.

I don't recall one Chrysler that I thought was a great car.

I do recall the spiffy Fiat's , the convertibles,-------truly made for touring but not in the city rush hour traffic as we have many places.

Will be of interest to see what occurs from this rather strange marriage.

I would presume an update in the technology but that is only a guess

  • The Container Store Has More Downside [View article]
Just bought an item at the Container Store. The item is perfect.
However, I see that the company's stock headed South.

I often put a store that I do daily shopping at to my watch list. The staff was great help-------I first went on line and called to ask them to hold the item. They did. I was glad I did not rely upon the internet pictures, as I changed my mind after I entered the store. So the women immediately knew what I needed. I walked away a satisfied customer.

The internet served one purpose but physically going to the store was what was needed.

Such as Jones of New York------when they first came out with a great line of clothing for women.

No I would not buy the stock now; keep it as a watch list stock.

Sounds like Gateway-------I had just bought a new Gateway computer. They closed their stores which were great and was taken over as a company..

Now I have Hewlett Packard purchased this year-------it was infected with the Microsoft Virus out of Alabama, check it out, and then Microsoft wanted to sell me the latest new version of Microsoft.

My files are blocked due to the virus and my version of Microsoft Word blocked.

Some of us are writers--------so where do we go for reliable computing systems.

  • Can Your Gold Be Confiscated? [View article]
    You are absolutely 100% correct.

In the current political environment, anything is possible.

Interesting that the author decided to bring up the subject now.

I hate to see group psychological thinking go in this direction; sometimes the group psychology grows and predominates.

  • RX For Revisionist Bunkum: A Lehman Bailout Wouldn't Have Saved The Economy [View article]
Fascinating article on Lehman and others------

The biggest mistake from the home owners' viewpoint was when fixed mortgage rates became a thing of the past as the real estate brokers, bankers fueled the move to adjustable rates .

Suddenly the one or two page document to buy and sell a property became a nightmare of legalities for potential buyers and/or sellers to wade through.

Every one----i.e. as my mother would have said, every 'Tom, Dick, and Harry", had their hands out for a portion of purchase cost or the sales cost.

Well , this is a new day and new time to be dealt with; we can learn from the past, but must stay in the moment to survive financially and in other ways.

  • Airline stocks slide after Ebola case reported in U.S. [View news story]
The people on the plane with the man who proved positive for Ebola later should be informed.

Not to do so could endanger their life to the point of death and spread the disease to others, if any of the passengers on the plane develops the disease.

We have been there before with other diseases and especially with AIDS.
We know now that AIDS can be transmitted via body fluids and contaminated blood. (Originally that was denied.)

This is reminiscent of the LIFE INSURANCE companies denying people Life Insurances based upon medical reports without telling the applicant that they had tested positive or AIDS.

The insurance companies simply denied the Life Insurance with no explanation to the applicant.

The Life Insurance companies simply denied the persons application. Some people died of AIDS that could have lived ---- if the requirement was to give the client the results of the medical report that was exclusive to the company.

Life Insurance Companies have stopped the practice of not giving the applicant the reason for denying coverage.

A law was created and passed that required Life Insurance companies to give the reason, including the medical if they deny the person applying for Life Insurance.

Thanks to the efforts of some folks, that law was changed at the national level in the USA--------the denial cannot be based on medical tests given exclusively to the Life Insurance Company.

Medical tests have been eliminated and replaced with charts gearing life insurance to a person's age.

Of course the airline that carried person with the Ebola doesn't want to be sued.

On the other hand I would hope that they will quietly contact each person on the flight . Everyone on the same flight as the man with the disease should be interviewed and observed and tested as needed.

It is the honorable thing to do in my opinion.
