The business you describe is an essential one----particularly in Arkansas where I am temporarily located. Learning about pumps for well houses, sand catchers and lack of computer access in the mountains.

There are stock markets and there are bond markets. The Wall St. Journal carried both at one time.
I was perusing info on Ameritrade and found that while they don't advise on stocks; they have a separate division that deals strictly with bond-----perhaps everything is directed on line to stocks?
The EU proposes tougher standards on medical devices and implants after investigations showed hundreds of thousands of women were at risk from substandard silicone implants. Independent assessment of manufacturers and increased product testing could result from the new legislation. [View news story]
Silicone implants for glamour is a choice that people make----for what. Certainly not a medical necessity.
The only sensible use that I know is for women who have breast cancer in one breast and want to appear natural.
European women should Learn from American women and the lawsuits and the failures.
I got here because of BSX , sure hope BSX is not at risk for the implants of silicon and whatever the latest is.

"Sirius XM has, among other things, 7% convertible notes out there that have about 300 million shares attached to them. If those notes were to convert, Liberty Media would no longer be in a majority position."

I haven't had the time to look at this again. When it came out I followed a few sites.
I truly came to the conclusion that it was Mid-East jitters. We absolutely did not know what direction the terrorism would take. Some of us recognized the attacks as just that while other gave other reasons.
One cannot divorce the underground war that this nation is witnessing.
But then again Liberty may have selling to balance out the number of shares they owned.
Liberty Media (LMCA -1.1%) CEO John Malone tells the audience at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference that the company's stake in Sirius XM Radio (SIRI -1.2%) is close to 49.6% as it stands tantalizingly close to gaining full control of the company. Naturally, one of the questions to the exec has to do with the fate of Mel Karmazin which he shrugs off by indicating a Mel-less Sirius would do just fine. (webcast) [View news story]
The games that these men do play. How about the investors who are 'commoners' , the common shareholders.? What is the fate of the shareholders.?

Memo To John Malone: You Cannot Save Sirius XM Radio [View article]
Congrats to you on Apple at $10.00 to $20.00!!! It takes guts to be a contrarian in the market..
As for this writer, I would like to see some competition for Sirius----Microsoft, Apple if Sirius is not going to remain Sirius.
For over a year we have heard about the possibilities by Malone---then we have Maffei, the FCC, Karmazin, the SEC eventually. Rumors and rumors.
Siri is so over analyzed that I doubt that anyone knows the truth
about what will happen.

Liberty Media: Buy Before This Happens [View article]
"Malone has said he wants to convert Sirius into a publicly owned company controlled by his Liberty Media holding company."
This is the first time that I have read the phrase "publicly owned"
in reference to Sirius/XM by Malone and his friends.
Publicly owned implies to me that Malone would be advocating a Sirius owned by whom------by the Federal Government???
Is this the same as turning Siri into a "public utility" to be controlled by Malone's Media outfit.
This seems anathema to the intent of Siri originally to take the communication to the skies not bound by the regulations of terrestrial radio.
This seems like one big power grab by Malone that could ultimately destroy Sirius, America's Satellite in the Sky Company.
So what will the FCC do with this concept?
