  • They Lie! Pros Make Successful Stock Price Forecasts, Every Day, With Double-Digit Simple-Percentage Payoffs [View article]
Approximately, when did Market Makers become a part of the process of buying and selling stock? In the 1900's we had small brokerage firms with one person doing the trading , sitting in a secure cage area contacting market makers for a given stock, as the Nasdaq Representatives presented tickets to trade shares of a given stock for their clients or themselves to the man in the cage-------the one man in the cage then contacted firms making a market in the stock for the best price.

  • Why I'm Writing So Many Articles About Lumber Liquidators [View article]
Interesting how what is old becomes new again. Formaldehyde was a problem in the 1990's .

Our family encountered the Formaldehyde problem after we bought a house in the 90's. Owners had worked on the basement of the house to make it into a recreation room as families often do in America. The space was not useable.

Gradually, I did the personal research needed and had the toxic materials removed. That space became beautiful and useable but added unseen cost for our family. So, buyer beware.

Lighthouses can become 'tourist attractions' if historical.

But then, someone would have to take care of it and run it as such.

    Very fascinating.

There is an old replica of an Italian Castle in Virginia at the top of Afton Mountain near the entrance to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Drive----Walter Russell and his wife Lao lived there in the presence of the sculptures that Russell created.

If you ever have a chance----buy it----historical. Swaanoa----beautiful golf course nearby. One of the more memorable sculptures sculpted by Walter Russell is a large impressive bust of Mark Twain in the replica.

In the month of May , Walter Russell would spend the month gathering his inspiration for his artistic endeavors.

I will check the spelling of Swaanoa.

  • Apple And Sirius XM - A Tale Of Two Equities [View article]
The confusion still reigns on the internet when one searches for SIRI-----i did a search and came up with numerous companies with the combination of the letters that make up SIRI------.

It is like a family with the same last name and no one knows who is related to whom.

SO MY BIG NUMBER 1 QUESTION OF YOU AND OTHERS-------

IS THERE ANY CURRENT CONNECTION NOW BETWEEN THE SIRI-XM satelite in the sky broadcasting company that is having its coming annual meeting on May 19th, 2015 and Apple that uses the term SIRI freely now.

  • BlackRock's Fink to CEOs: Cool it on the capital returns [View news story]
Fink simply wants to put the money in his coffers, not in the hands of American's who need the $ to live.

Mr. Fink go back in history and see just how well the 1 year mark for long term worked for America. It appears that you want to lengthen that LT

We already have IRA's and pensions in companies that are long term.

Enough is enough. NO INCREASE IN THE TIME FOR HAVING LONG TERM GAINS!!

Go to longer times for long term gains and we will all become day traders.

  • The Cloud Shake-Out Has Begun As HP Drops Out Of Public Cloud [View article]
As I started a comment regarding HP and my experience, it became longer and longer. Once again a message for me to try publishing an article on SA.

Yes, I will do my first article on my experience with HP and the cloud and the telephone call that locked up my computer bought at the end of 2013 from HP and the printer.

The computer sits in a corner with the printer with the files totally locked up.
A cool several thousand dollars . Yes, I will put together an article on that experience. Could use those files that I wrote over an 8 month period now in the --on behalf of my brother who has Alzhiemer's Disease.

Now, I have the title in mind-----will aim for the end of this week to submit an article.

  • The FDA Nixes A Pathbreaking Drug For MS [View instapost]
    Chris

My brother, deceased now, went for years not diagnosed with MS until he collapsed teaching his math class at the age of 45.

He was rushed to the University hospital in Richmond. That is when a doctor at the University level saw him and diagnosed the disease.

The only treatment was Steroids. ( He had previously been in Texas with no diagnosis from doctors there but not understanding what he had.)

Another therapy has been floating for years as a substitute for insulin delivery by GNBT with their insulin by mouth, not needle ----- had to do trials in India as I recall. Still not approved.

This is the kind of rules and regulations that stop progress. Imagine if Dr. Salk had not found the vaccine for polio and moved rapidly with Vaccines

We lined up to get our shots, not being sure if they would work. Swimming pools were closed for the summer, we did not eat peaches coming from the Carolinas -----yet two of my best friends and a cousin ended up at Mayo Clinic in the Iron Lungs.

All survived and became extremely productive people.

Yes on the articles-----and some advocacy from the research hospitals.

  • 2 Companies To Hold For The Next 25 Years [View article]
I would debate that but don't have the time.

There is another side to lithium, silver, gold ----it can be recycled.

If you live in a state that requires a 'catalytic' converter for pollution control to pass inspection, you will understand. Replacement of these is an expensive undertaking.

If you are going to hold for 25 years----suggest you be sure your will is drawn up to pass along the possible wealth. I would rather own the actual physical silver and gold.

  • Sirius XM launches new telematics in 2016 Nissans [View news story]
    TELEMATICS:

This is like the new kid on the block. What's his name?

    What is in a name?

Reminds me of other phrases or words that became invented ------
    "World-Class" and overused.

In this case------Siri needs to get this word known now. (Make it a commonly used word.)

  • Is The Long Awaited Correction At Hand? [View article]
Every stock does not participate in a bull market or a bear market; in fact I believe there is always a bull market and always a bear market within the overall
    market.

Be careful and consider both the technical charts and the fundamental.

With chat boards also be careful----don't waste your personal energy and time on reading more than you need to know.
