    Very well said.
All investors are best served by behaving as business owners, not as traders.

  • Will Dominion Resources Cut Its Dividend? [View article]
I'm long D and several other utilities, including SO and NEE.
Your posting was, IMO, poorly worded and lacking key points regarding
the company's prospects. It seems that you rely on a simple formula to
arrive at a conclusion to a complex question. I'm alert for negative research
on my holdings. Not moved by your formula and conclusion about D.

  • General Electric's Second Quarter Earnings Were Electrifying To Me [View article]
Past performance may not predict future performance. That's true both ways.
GE's actions in the last couple of years are, IMO, turning the company into a real contender. I'm long GE.

  • Declining Propane Demand Will Eventually Threaten AmeriGas' Dividend [View article]
Any company yielding over 5% or so is risky--certainly at nearly 8% APU is--no news here. Nothing lasts forever--again, not news. I'm long APU as part of a portfolio of over 70 companies that yield 3.6% and grew their dividends by 8% year over year. Some yield 1.5% and others yield 10%. Of course we should be alert.

    Nice work.
Long equal $ amounts of KO and PEP. Still building positions.
Much prefer owning the two industry leaders than attempting to pick which will outperform.

  • Realty Income's Business Model Is Similar To Mine As A Dividend Growth Investor [View article]
    Great. Thank you.
It does seem that there may be more times when both the parent and spin-off do well as not. COP and PSX is a such an example of both doing very well. Seriously considering selling if something significant has happened is surely a good policy. Is it your experience that you usually sell if a company spins off a part of itself?
