  • Everybody Out Of The Pool! [View article]
I've owned POOL since 1999--it's a great company as its record shows.
Your comments (I will not call them an analysis) are slanted and lacking. For example, your remark about their quarterly dividend being greater than their quarterly net income shows, IMO, that you are not being clear. Surely you know that POOL's business is very seasonal. POOL's annual dividend is about 35%
of its annual income. Likewise, you cite their current liabilities (essentially accounts payable) while not mentioning that their current assets (accounts receivable and inventory) are about double their current liabilities. POOL's net income, EPS and revenue are at record levels. EPS estimates for 2015 and 2016 are $2.82 and $3.24, respectively according to Zack's.

  • Should Dividend Growth Investors Go For Gilead? [View article]
As a DGI it's important to me to allocate a small portion of my portfolio to companies that are growing their dividends very rapidly. The price of that is a low yield for about five years on those investments.
Long GILD, TSCO, POOL and OII.

  • General Electric: A Golden Dividend Growth Opportunity Is Never Offered Twice [View article]
Sold 15% of my full position on Friday. May sell more next week.
Made a nice profit and got a nice yield along the way. Seem that they intend on buying back shares while holding the dividend at $.92, which would be on fewer shares.

  • Several Dividend ETFs Slash Their Dividends By Up To 22% [View article]
I'm long VIG. Remember that in 2012 many companies paid extra dividends and/or paid five dividends in 2012 to avoid the extra tax on dividends that was proposed, but didn't happen the way it was feared.
