  • Watch Out For Potholes This Summer

After a long harsh winter is over numerous potholes appear on the roadway.Eventually most get repaired while a few go unnoticed close to Memorial Day weekend. One hole where I live seems to have jurisdictional issues with no one willing to take ownership of it.Hopefully it will be filled soon so our thoughts can return to wonderful Summer days. The Market is slated to begin it's slow period where top trading honchos head to their beach houses to prepare for the summer season. They will make sure everyone has done their jobs painting, cleaning, and sprucing up the fruits of their labor. This summer has a strange feel as if a distant storm may well be approaching. You might have sensed this in 2008 as the dark clouds of the housing bubble were first seen in the distant.I for one will keep an eye for any problems that may crop up in the dog days of summer.I learned that lesson in 2008-2009 and lived to see the future as a trader/investor.Remember to watch out for the pothole that was not filled as that will be the one to jar you on a hot summer day.Oh,there goes another boat heading to the Ocean. Have a great Holiday weekend, everybody.

  • Gas Savings Devoured By Car Insurance Hike

On a cold winter's morning,a quick stop to the local Exxon station filled up the tank with 15.72.For the last two months the declining prices at the pumps has given everyone an extra bounce in their step.Unfortunately every company that consumers deal with have seen this as a green light to raise prices on their services.Recently the cable bill went up a few bucks and now just today the car insurance premium was raised 54 dollars. So when television pundits wonder where the extra money has gone to,a monthly scan of the household bills should provide the answer.Let's hope gas prices do not rise into the summer or the fun will fade very quickly on the consumer spending rebound. Then a new theme must be found for early morning business news stations to run with.Maybe higher profits at cable and Insurance outfits.

  • Domino's Should Hire Jarrid On Monday

This week something caught my attention outside of the busy stock market news.A video showing a pizza delivery man getting hassled over a 7 dollar tip drew me in to the drama unfolding before my eyes.I am sure that this type of nonsense goes on every day as people become all self-righteous when the bill comes due.We can debate exactly what happened here all day with conclusions drawn on who at the car dealership was the biggest villain but that misses the point entirely.Jarrid Tansey the pizza delivery guy had a great response in this exchange that Human Resources across the country should have picked up on.He said that his resources were wasted ( Gas ) in this whole episode. Not only was no tip offered but he had to drive his car twice to first deliver the order then bring back the money on the second trip. The use of the word resources makes me believe that he will be a golden asset to any company that wishes to hire him.So Domino's hire Jarrid on Monday to be your new point man on Commercials to get the word out how important these pizza delivery people are to the American Economy. With a little rush a commercial can be launched during the Super Bowl.Even better if Jarrid was wearing a New England Patriot Jersey smiling at the camera.Through adversity can come opportunity for all involved.Except for the car dealership who may have created a martyr for the U.S. Economy.
