  • Predictions For Gasoline Prices

On Thursday as millions sit down in the U.S.for a holiday dinner OPEC meets in Vienna. At this meeting oil countries will discuss export cuts and what to do about low barrel prices.Robert Hardy of the Geostrat writes " Unless they were to agree to a cut of 8 to 10 percent,it would have virtually no effect on prices". Even if they cut Russia,Canada, and the U.S.A. will have to follow suit in cutting production.Seems like a long shot at the moment especially with Russia teetering on the edge of Recession. The economies of Canada and U.S. are not quite strong enough yet to withstand less revenue. So we have a very interesting play coming up on the grand playing field of global finance.Something game changing may occur on Thanksgiving Day.I would keep one eye on the big game and another on Vienna. The playbook could be getting a huge overhaul in the Oil game.

  • Japan's Final Days

The decline of a great economy does not happen overnight nor a calendar business year.A series of missteps accumulating over decades eventually leads down the path of destruction.German debt from World War One,French loans during the Napoleonic Wars,or Argentina political mismanagement all led to economic calamity. Now it appears that Japan is on that treacherous road which nobody seems to know how bad the end will be.People get into trouble when personal income is not enough to pay minimum payments on their credit cards.Japanese debt is the leader in the developed world at 229% to GDP.With an aging population who will pay the tax hikes needed to finance the debt ? Eventually not enough money will come in to pay the minimum payment. This path did not start yesterday nor will it implode tomorrow but it will end very badly for everyone. The world economy will be impacted on a large scale when the bottom drops out of the third largest.Plan accordingly for this big event, the Stock Market will take no prisoners when the end comes.

  • Halloween Ghosts Spotted Near Wall Street

October is the month when the leaves change colors and the air turns crisp.Children pick out costumes getting ready for the big day when candy is deposited into orange buckets.Since Halloween falls on a Friday this year the day becomes extra special for everyone involved.October is also the month where Market turmoil rears it's ugly head from time to time. The Panic of 1907,Black Tuesday in 1929,Black Monday of 1987,October 2008 all occurred in the tenth month. This week's Market Turbulence woke up old ghosts thought to be buried in the past. While this may or might not be the start of a Market downturn the timing brings back nervous memories.Anyone who was long Netflix this week can attest to that.Stock volatility can lead to tremendous trading opportunities so there is a shining light in the hazy fog.Navigating the minefields of Wall Street in October makes trading more exciting, never dull.Similar to the feeling a kid gets as he walks up to a new house in the neighborhood on Halloween Night. What treat will be offered when the door finally opens? Wall Street and Halloween have a lot in common when it comes to surprises.
