Asus Eee: Threat to Apple, Microsoft, HP, Dell and the Hard Drive Vendors? [view article]
Either the author didn't do his homework or Amazon's info is inaccurate. The Asus EEE's are listed as pre-order only. How could they really top any sales list if they're only available for pre-order? Jan 02 11:31 AMCould iPhone Become the Best Selling Smartphone on the Planet? [view article]
As an investor, I'm very bothered by this type of reporting. I understand the temptation to propagate rumors of when a new product might be released, but I think it crosses the line when it comes to sales figures that could significantly affect the stock price. Even though you disclose the source as a rumor, it still seems like a violation of some sort of journalistic integrity, if not SEC rules. More responsible reports disclose accepted methods for estimating sales. If 9to5mac is really privy to actual sales figures from Apple, and this rumor is substantiated on January 14, I will look forward to reading about the SEC investigation. Dec 23 10:36 PM
