Dectra, last time I checked leadership comes from the executive branch? Supposed to work to bring all sides together and promote compromise? I don't think the House or Senate do that? They have to compromise with each other to make a bill a law, but, the "leadership" comes from the top.

JC, GM is killing the dealer techs with the recalls. Those guys get paid very little for warrantee work. And if that is all they are doing, they are not making all that much money, and from that bitterness ensues. My Ford tech buddy can not imagine what they are going through with the millions and millions of recalls that are backing up for the dealership techs. Because in the end it is what they have in their pockets that makes them happy, as it should be...

If only there was a safe easy way to transport Canadian crude to the U.S.? What could that be? Anyone have any ideas what could possibly transport crude oil in a safe and efficient manner? Anyone at all?

If I were a betting man, school is over, so he is on vacation? At least that would be my theory as to Deercreek...

Wyo, that is the problem with the VAT in the U.S., they would never give up what they already have, so we would just have one more tax on top of all the others. VAT sounds great in theory (gggl), but, the practical application in the U.S. would be for yet another tax on top of everything else, with no reduction elsewhere.

This will be an interesting next 6 months in history. A lot going on, a lot spinning out of control in a multitude of regions throughout the world. If we only had a foreign policy to deal with all of it?

Stock is moving, maybe Mr. Market is waking up? Or is that Ms. Market? Either way, moving up is not such a bad development for those of us long. These guys keep coming up with more and more applications of their tech, eventually, something is going to hit.

Yep, pretty much knocking it out of the park on foreign policy. The successes keep piling up, so many that I can't recall them all anymore? We have gone from the "speak softly and carry a big stick" policy of many years ago to "shoot your mouth off, and then sanction them". Not optimum...as the sanctions often hurt us more than who we are seeking to punish.

If fighting with knives and clubs, that's one thing, but, with modern weapons, the slaughter becomes rather nasty. Oh, that and swords for beheading...but, that is another story.

Now for our history lesson on carpet bombing and round the clock bombing during WW II. It was Dresden, had no real military importance, the Allies just wanted to see what they could do with air power. Well, they leveled the place and what ever did not get blown up burned in the resulting fire storms. There was a little more to it than that, but, essentially that is what happened.

Beheadings as the militants take over, nice touch! I have a neighbor that has a business in Iraq, I will have to get his take, I suspect it will not be all that positive.

There are nasty chemicals in that vapor. The effects of second hand vaping have not been tested yet. I for one am not that interested in being a guinea pig!

SABMiller wanting in on the craft brew market? That is kind of funny, in a way. The craft brews are mostly a local deal, some shipping to wider markets, but, mostly local. Kind of a cultish deal as well, I would much rather drink one or two fantastic beers from a local craft brewery than 6 from a major. Quality beats quantity in the craft brew market. While the craft brew industry may sound like they are doing really well, the percentage of market share is actually very small. Not so sure it is not supposed to be that way for a reason?

It sure is! They did stuff to the front, but, for the Mustang the IRS (independent rear suspension) is the game changer. Makes it a handling car, which for car guys is nirvana.
