This bear market rally has plenty of legs and fundamentals have little to do with it. I also would take issue with your 'trading sideways since April 9' comment, it's easy to pick and choose date ranges to support any argument but to me the trend is still strongly up particulary for the Nasdaq.

I have been tracking house prices on Cape Cod with the thought of investing in a vacation home. I find that even with the recent dramatic price drops that prices are still 50-100% up over the past ten years. Contrast that with the stock market that has gained little or no value in that time frame and it is obvious that the housing correction has a long way to go. Foreclosure is a neccessary mechanism to bring prices back in line with reality and the sooner we take our medicine the better off we'll all be.
