Nokia Gets No Respect Against Apple, RIM [View article]
Caltorguy makes a good point: "I think the iPhone will do well but it is the Cadillac in a world where most are content with Hondas and Chevys". But, Dithers comment: "The iPhone isnt a phone - its a small computer running OSX." is the VERY MOST IMPORTANT aspect of this whole discussion. The iPhone is actually probably misnamed. It's a fact that the mobile browsing percentage is dominated by the iPhone. The iPod has 70% market share. Emailing will surely increase as Enterprise usage increases. I didn't say it would dominate RIMM, but it will surely increase with Exchange compatibility now. But, the biggest potential--and it's already becoming a reality--is the apps in the App Store. Soon, developers will not only make cool or fun or entertaining apps, but truly necessary apps for our daily life. When that happens, the iPhone will NEED to be renamed. Image when we speak of an Apple product and say: "oh and it has a phone too.".

I'm definitely AAPL long. But, have just a little concern. Is anyone else worried about all this talk of AAPl running strong until the announcement and then plummeting? e.g., AAPL goes to 220 then retracts to 160. Fundamentally I haven't seen a company as strong as AAPL in a long time, but it worries be that Jim Cramer types are telling everyone to sell after the announcement. And we all know that even good stocks are subject to general hype/fear. Hope this isn't the case, but I am somewhat concerned. Thoughts?

I completely agree with KenC on his remarks regarding Scott Moritz. Many times, Moritz appears to SPOAF-State Personal Opinion As Fact. I don't know his motives, but KenC's TheStreet/Cramer connection to Moritz appears plausible. Trying not to drift off into emotion and non-facts, but when I see Moritz interviewed on video clips about AAPL, he does seem to be biased against and slightly arrogant.

I've been following your AAPL posts for over a year now and still agree with your analysis. It seems in vogue to bash AAPL lately, not sure if it's the bring-down-the-top syndrome, but a lot seem reluctant to acknowledge the huge growth and technology revolution that Apple is behind. Meanwhile there seems to be a lovefest with RIMM and GOOG. We'll see, but my money is definitely with you. I predicted, to family and friends (!), that we'd see $200 by the end of Dec. and between $200 - $225 by the earnings conference in Jan 08. I think that estimate might be a little conservative in-light of the huge quarter that AAPL will post in Jan. I'm thinking between $215 - $235 now.
