David, has your "spidey sense" ever gotten you out of the market only to miss a big run upward? Or failed to get you out in time? Or do you just chase performance and occassionally miss parts of the move, in exchange for never having to experience much pain? If the latter, does your timing consistently outperform just holding the equivalent asset classes? A mountain of evidence suggests that the market can't be reliably timed. There's always someone who's amassed a great track record of outperforming - until he doesn't. Just ask Bill Miller.
