my long term outlook is positive also. dollar is near it's low and commodities their high. but their strengthening/decline will be slow, probably 3-5 years for 20% price movements.

i stopped buying tomatoe's about 2 years ago, when they hit $1 per tomato. milk, packaged and sliced meats have also gone up since then. basically, inflation really started mid 2005, probably linked to the reckless housing prices.

i actually enjoy reading his posts, but can't really say i have been tracking them for several weeks, so don't want to pass judgement. i did check out his website to see his trades and enjoyed going through them, although he lists his exit price and never his entry price :) he is honest enough to note when he loses.
i read one of his posts today and it was an abysmal play, which i noted in the comments.

thurs. jan 18 the s&p drops nearly 40 points and you think that fri. the 19th on a slight bump up of 12 points (at it's max) you have a good opportunity to short it even more.
i read your next post, so i know you made money, but i think personally a very bad trade.

totally disagree with you...dollar will appreciate in 2008. fed will fight inflation and the too rapid currency devaluation.
