Big Banks in Trouble: Huge Mortgage Write-Downs Seem Inevitable [View article]
You might want to open your eyes lost one. I know several families that walked from their homes as their hope vanished with the equity drain..... We have a LONG way to go......

I'm sounding the BS alarm..... I'm 110% certain that GS causes more harm than good in our economy...... What do they add to the bottom line? I think GS need to get broken into 5-10 smaller firms.

Bankers, brokers, and most financial related jobs have been WAY over paid! Many offer worthless services and their pay needs to drop to more typical levels....... Give me a break! I'm waiting for the coming revolution.........
Our country is rotting before our very eyes...... Hank Paulson is a criminal in my mind and he's just as evil as the corporate criminals who created this mess....... privatize profits and socialize the losses...... What has the U.S. become? This is a very sad and dark time to be an American........ Let Leh, Aig, Mer, and other pigs rot away already! Take the medicine Paulson and company!

Super,
Do you always drive while looking through the rear view mirror? Many of these names (tsl for example) are trading at durt cheap FORWARD valuations. I agree that spwr and fslr are trading at lofty levels, but the solar space is just getting warmed ;o) up and your puts will retire worthless imho. Do some dd about the space and potential for amazing earning potential...... Good luck to you!

Ummmmm, fuel prices were the only cause for the .3%..... Otherwise, retail was weak across the board..... Come on man, do a little dd and stop the spin....... Geez!
I've been with etrade for about 10 years. I've been with Fidelity, Schwab, and Ameritrade, but Etrade is by far the superior service in every regard. Buying 150k shares of Etrade in early 2000 crushed me like a grape, but it shows how much I believe in this well run organization. I think they will survive and I suggest buying some shares as a speculative position. It's hard to say how their misguiding mortgage mess will play out, but their platform is top notch and it would be a travisty to see Etrade go bk or get bought out by an inferior competitor. Good luck!
Dow Names Offering More Value Now Than At Start of Bull [View article]
Your article makes sense at first glance, however earnings are coming down as will their FORWARD pe ratios. The same arguement was made for the builders in 2005. Lets examine the true earnings going forward to get an idea of true forward valuation. Risk is still getting priced into the markets as recession is here and a nasty bear to boot.

Well Written David! I couldn't agree more as I see a severe recession coming in 2008. Many don't understand the risks that accompany our current economy and equity markets. I see Dow 11,500 in 08. Keep up the great work!
