      Apple's AT&T Deal Is Costly
What a load of bull. Apple makes revenue hand-over-fist on every phone sold, regardless of the service associated with it. They didn't lose any money. They gained money, albeit less than they would have if an AT&T retained the customer.

Apple TV and the Future of the DVD player
You want to go to Target and download something to a flash drive? Man, I don't want to live in your world. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using the internet for distribution. Apple currently has it nailed with Akamai and the iTunes music store. You can begin watching your movie within about a minute of initiating your download. Far less time it takes for you to put your shoes on, grab your keys and get out to the car. Plus there's no risk of a car accident, (depending on where you live) mugging, there's no gasoline use, there's no waiting in line, screaming kids, etc. etc.

Also, HD-DVD and BlueRay were the products of consortiums, not individual contributors.

Why doesn't anyone describe the AppleTV as what it really is... An iPod for the living room? It does more than just video. It's a keystone component of a full media experience, making your HD TV the crowning jewel that it should be. We have three of them currently, and they have changed the way we enjoy our media.
