The CLIQ and MOT's software, seems to focused on social networking, rather than usability and functionality. I'd buy the HTC Hero with the Sense OS over the CLIQ/Android, but I really like the looks of the pop-out keypad on the CLIQ, and it's a healthy alternative to the MyTouch on T-Mobile right now, which may help retain some customers for T-Mobile and help MOT gain some market-share on handsets.
Global Markets in Review: More Thoughts on This Rally [View article]
Superb reporting and commentary! This is what an article should look like!
This rally reminds of of a man handing his kid more candy to keep from crying, and the, when the man runs out of candy, and out of ideas, he grabs a gun and demands candy from someone else to keep his kid happy. I'd love to ride this feel good wave, but consumers are being crucified for their Asian buying binge of the past. And how, is Asia holding up so well, without buyers of their products?
This is truly a speculator's market and the big money should stay on the side lines until stability returns.

Um, Joe six-pack doesn't know how to use the i-Phone. They are simply getting ahead of the curve. Consumers are shunning more expensive outlets for a bargain. Something more interesting to keep an eye is in the drop in new subscribers of internet access plans for these smartphones. The prices will eventually have to come down for these services to be viable in this market.
A banker friend of mine has suggested this entire financial crisis is consolidation of wealth and power in order for the U.S. to stave off a rising superpower we know as China from becoming the world's most powerful financial/military force. I don't want to repeat the entire conversation but basically this is necessary and people in the U.S. and Europe need to hurt financially and stop buying imported stuff for a while. Those who are smart will survive; inverse etf's, gold, currencies, s/t treasuries.
They really mean CRASH when they say capitulation... We don't need a crash because the economy nor political situation is calling for it. What we need to do is just get used to the fact East Asia is now becoming the better consumer to serve the needs of global capitalists. America is no longer the chosen child and should get used to being second or perhaps third behind Europe. The U.S. consumer has come to represent only 5% of the global consumers; look to the East for all the newest consumer trends this century! You can shop safely in the cities of the East unlike the criminal infested, rotting cities in America.

The bald-eagle oracle speaks and the markets jump. Hey Jim, I realize E-trade Financial may not fundamentally be a good buy but what the hell! Please say it will go to $100. but buy a ton for your trust first and we can all get rich quick, just like the good ol' dot-com days. Let's drive up all the commodities too, then WATER! Yeah >=)
