  • Cash for Clunkers May Cost Up to $45,354 Per Vehicle [View article]
There's an old saying, "Figures don't lie, but liars figure"
    Mark Twain
If Edmunds knew what car sales would ordinarily be during the 4 day period the clunkers were traded, then I would pay attention, but they're just playing with numbers to get their name in the paper. What a load! The annual sales rate of autos went up substantially in the month and all the new sales weren't even reported yet. Clunkers are good! Hail to clunkers!

  • Energy Conversion Devices Guides Down - What Happened to President Solar? [View article]
These figures may be of interest to ENER investors. Book value=$14.80/shr; cash=$9.50/shr. Only solar stock selling so close to or under these figures. Amazing. They are giving the company away.

  • Interview with Tobin Smith on Green Investing [View article]
Ener is selling at about 10 times earnings and growing at over 50% a year. You go short and you'll go broke. What fools we mortals be.

  • 4 Reasons Why Orion Energy is a Good Short Candidate [View article]
Hey Sham, you still alive? I bought OESX at an average cost of about $2.96. You were right about the short at $4.25 but it was too cheap for me and it just went down with the market(Sept-Nov). I spoke to a local electrical contractor who had been out there, in Wisconsin. He loved the company and their products. Pepsi, Bud, Coke, etc love them too. Someone has given you some bad info. Happy New Year and good luck to you.

  • How to Trade 'Cap & Trade' Policies - Barron's [View article]
One of the better substitutes for trading in carbon is reducing the carbon usage. Orion Energy Systems(OESX) cuts electricity requirements by large amounts at no cost to the companies that they deal with. Bottomline large users of electricity save big dollars at no capital cost to themselves. Now that's an idea.

  • Expect Continued Drops in Solar [View article]
What does the financial crisis have to do with ENER? They are well financed into 2011 and their backlog is mostly take or pay(approx.$1.5 billion). By the time their bacllog runs out, I would expect that the "financial crisis" will be long over and President Obama's alternate energy plans will be in full swing.
I'm long ENER at these prices.

  • The Sun Is Not Also Rising Over Solar Stocks [View article]
I notice that no one mentions ENER. They probably have the best program in the solar business. They are well financed, have take or pay orders into 2010, and produce the least expensive product, plus they make good money!

  • Three Plays on Solar Strength This Summer [View article]
    Wayfarer;
ENER's thin film technology starts to produce earlier in the morning and later in the evening than other products, plus it works on overcast days, which increases its efficiency. There are maqny different ways to describe efficiency. Believe me, GM wouldn't have contracted for 2million sq/ft on their Spanish plant, if the efficiency wasn't provably superior. Bottom line ENER's efficiencys are superior to their competitors.
Add to this the possibility of reducing the cost of the thin film product by up to 80%. This would make it cheaper to produce electric power than any other means, including nuclear, wind, ocean, etc. they applied for the patent on April 17, 2008. They talk about making fresh water almost as cheaply as diverting a stream to you home. Can you imagine what his would do for the billions of poor in the world? I can't think of a better place to put my money. A lot of other people feel the same way, ENER just did an oversubscribed convertible bond for over $350 million. Anyway you get the idea. This is the future.
    Good luck

  • Temporary Market Bottom? 3 Solar Stocks That Look Like Bargains [View article]
You talk about rapid expansion and ability to finance the expansion, what about Uni-solar, wholly owned sub of Energy Conversion Devices(ENER)? They just had a $350,000,000 convertible bond over subscribed underwriting. Plus they just received an order from GM to do the 2,000,000 sf roof of their plant in Spain.
Don't blind yourself to the industry leaders. these people are expanding at better than 100% a year and they are profitable!

  • The Hindenburg Omen: Crash Signal In Play [View article]
Apparently the market is going to test the January, March bottoms. You know what they say about a drowning man, third time down, he's gone. Not scientific, but that's what they say.

  • 4 Reasons Why Orion Energy is a Good Short Candidate [View article]
Everything you say is probably true. However, what you say is no secret. I say this because the stock is down already. I would think this is the place where shorts will cover.
I love the bear side, but I don't want to be the last one to short. Perhaps you want to cover, is that why you wrote this piece?

  • Corrections Corp. Not Executing - Cramer's Lightning Round (4/25/08) [View article]
Cramer is, admittedly so, nutty as a fruit cake! He protesteth too much about his blind trust, which isn't blind, but run by him. It's called a charitable trust, by him. Anyway, the big news with ENER is that they have a patent on increasing the manufacturing speed of their photovoltaic thin film line by 10. This reduces cost to a point that they become as cheap as fossil fuels. That's a WOW!
