  • CVR Refining: Looking Into The Puzzling 30% Decline [View article]
El wrongo! I am driving my truck more often than I did before and I am not the only one to do that. Price elasticity of demand doesn't change from nonosecd to nanosecond but in the long run demand goes up as price goes down.

My gasoline consumption is up. I use my Piaggio MP3 less and my truck more. If you think people aren't going to drive more with gas down and airline tickets up you are well misinformed.

  • Is This The End Of The 'Shale Oil Bubble?' Or The Beginning? [View article]
Like several Russian Colleagues said a number of years back when I asked them where did all the communists go...they smiled and said...they took off their red shirts and put on green shirts. It's like the maserati marxists we have in the US...after they deficate in the bed, they change their name from liberal to progressive to the next iteration of statism that they shoot for.

"banks have required the risky Tier 3's to have very high hedge levels"...What happens when the hedges aren't honored due to counter party risk. Hedges and derivatives...what could go wrong?

His negative PR has been right all along. The cheerleaders suckered people in all the way down...the divy is "guaranteed"...yeah.

I am glad you sold; however, that doesn't make people that listened to the cheerleaders feel any better when it's time to pay the rent

What planet do you live on? They "suspended" the dive because they are ass deep in debt . With an oil price war going on and a geopolitical mess where the Rosneft deal might blow up what are you thinking? I am wondering if those "guaranteed" contracts that SDRL has have a "force major" clause in them. If they do or for some reason they are not honored, it's lights out for SDRL. Who is going to buy their debt?

  • Update: Seadrill Misses On Earnings, Suspends Dividend, And Creates Buying Opportunity [View article]
Just bought a cabin on the Titanic...the man said this thing could never sink! P. T. Barnum said it best...there is a sucker born every minute and two people born to take him.

  • Seadrill EPS of $0.31 [View news story]
I was one that questioned buying SDRL for a number of reasons but I never "viciously" attack anyone...the logic that something can't go down or that the dividend can't or won't be cut...just show me the data...and since we can't be certain about the future don't fall in love a stock. Fall in love with a woman but not a stock. And with the woman you still have to be cautious

  • Seadrill: Perspective From Russia - Part 5 [View article]
Whistling past the graveyard are we? So you don't need the income and making less to pay less taxes makes you happy. I can tell you and others how to really do it right...just buy more SDRLs at a high price and go broke. Now that will really piss the IRS off!

Wow, after a myriad of cheerleaders who have posted articles and/or comments about how "guaranteed" the dividend was...yes, I agree with you...the facts have changed. They threw the stockholders under the bus

This is in view of the fact that JF promised a sustained dividend until 2016. Well that was over quickly wasn't it.
