Potential buyers include marketers, retailers, research firms, and government agencies. Though privacy advocates can't be thrilled, Ma Bell and other U.S. carriers see a multi-billion-dollar opportunity enabled by the mobile data boom and the development of more powerful big data/analytics platforms.
