  • Plains All American to construct $900M Cushing-to-Memphis pipeline [View news story]
Maybe VLO first and VLP eventually.

If they liquidate, what will that mean? Will Focus be buying NGC assets?

  • An Interview With Ucore Rare Metals' CEO Jim McKenzie [View article]
If necessary, a facist executive order would be issued. That doesn't mean UCORE would be raped, it would just have to meet DOD requirements first. A long-term contract with DOD can also guarantee a sales price satisfactory to both parties, even if prices should fall.

  • It's not just oil exports wearing on refiners, Credit Suisse says [View news story]
It probably seems absurd that for one who really doesn't know where this is all leading to suggest that the "EXPERTS" probably do not know either. When HFC stops paying that extra dividend, unless it is combined with an increase in the regular dividend, then we will know mgmt. believes it is time to pull in their horns. However, I do tend to agree that Government in the short-run has an overwhelming capacity to screw things up.

  • InvenSense Management Discusses Q3 2014 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
I am trying to determine if the buildup of inventory was responsible for the lower than expected profit, but which will lead to higher profit reported when that inventory is sold. Or is it expected that with increased sales/revenue, this will most likely be an on-going situation. Meaning INVN will likely be increasing sales and revenues but usually missing EPS in the first 2 quarters of each year. Those who live quarter to quarter could be disappointed, while those who live year to year may be pleased with the outlook.

  • Here's What The Buy Side Expects From InvenSense [View article]
Smartphone sales would probably affect the following quarter. When sales go down the maker of the phone purchases less from providers for the following months production unless a new model is being run out.

  • Spin-Off To Payoff: National Oilwell Varco [View article]
Can't be sure but I recommend looking at CST spinoff from VLO. Some options will trade with the spinoff and new options will tradewithout it.

Would you feel the same way if you knew Google and others are requesting even more sophisticated gyros and accelerometers from invn? Should invn accomplish those needs it would be the main supplier (locked in) to major players in advanced technology. If it were easy to enter into this market, you would have seen a bunch of competitors already.

  • Spin-Off To Payoff: National Oilwell Varco [View article]
I was wondering if anyone has tried to estimate what NOV and NOW will look like after the spinoff, in regards to the number of shares and what EPS in each segment might be. Then would come the tricky part - estimating the P/E each segment will garner.

  • 2 Bakken Plays That Should Still Work In 2014 [View article]
I would think a company like Abraxas is less likely to suffer in a pullback like larger companies. I'm not saying there would be no drop in share price, but I suspect it would take a falling out of favor to hurt this stock, because its potential is so high. No reason this stock couldn't earn around $1.00 a share in 3 to 4 years. A seasoned company would probably have a PE of 6 to 8, but no telling what their multiple would be until compounded earnings growth turns south.

  • Cheaper Gasoline Is Coming In 2014: 3 Ways To Profit [View article]
The PUT strategy is good if we don't get a down market meaning everything is down whether you are in good stocks or poor ones. Every now and then though you get a good PUT price for very low stock price levels way out such as Jan 15's. We can argue about it being a smaller return and but perhaps less risk. Maybe I am quite willing to own VLO at 30 but not so much at 45. Everybody pick their own poison. If VLO goes up everybody is a winner, just some more than others. If it goes down. That's a horse of another color. May be OK or may be yikes!

  • Intel: Recent Positive Developments Makes It A Buy [View article]
I don't know if I know anything. Yet, INTC is doing a whole bunch of RD. And it appears to be directed at something virtually new. It was once a beast. And tech can be humbling. But INTC is a company still with considerable resources including smarts power. They could bumble their way along as is for an indefinite period. But if they get in on the ground floor of something new and flex their muscles, they may well be a beast again. I don't see an overnight change. Maybe sometime in 2015 for a breakout unless the market perceives greatness again, then it could come earlier just on speculation.

  • A Closer Look At Boardwalk Pipeline Partners' Distributable Cash Flow As Of Q3 2013 [View article]
Can BWP maintain the current distribution? Not worried about them growing it. Stock has dropped below 30 with the Barclay downgrade. Instead of saying look for another MLP, how about something that says - I think the stock will drop to 25 because, or stay around 29 because etc. etc. Or given the current estimates BWP should trade flat and market perform at best. Is he saying sell sell sell? Great analysis but recommendation should be more than don't buy.

  • 5 Things I Don't Like About Chesapeake Energy, And How They Affect Numbers [View article]
Isn't CHK more of a longterm asset play? If it can increase EPS gradually, isn't it likely to get a favorable multiple? It's EPS is currently growing at 20 percent (granted starting from a low 26 cents 4Q/12) but also beating analyst estimates. The only downside risk right now would appear to be a considerable overall market downturn.
