    In the wake of the financial mess, I don't understand the uptick in retail. What will people be spending on? Less on extras - tech and iPods. They will be scrimping to pay their mortgage/rent, food, and clothing, and fuel to get where they need to go. I would be long grocery chains, out of retail and restaurants, neutral or short financials. The quote above is spot on - the dollar longs have been misguided - where have we seen real strength yet in the American economy? Commodities are the real defense play here - we still will eat, hence grains and fertilizers...and gold will never go to zero.
