  • Buffett boosts stake in GM, Chicago Bridge, dumps Gannett, Mondelez, Kraft  [View news story]
With due respect to the Oracle of Omaha,I have better places to put my investment dollar than GM.I do like BK,Bank of New York Mellon,a solid play I've held awhile.I am overweight energy,ie:refiners,pro... pipelines, but thats where the money is.Its what fuels an economy,a staple that business and the public must regularly buy along with food.If any cash is left over, then one can buy,"widgets".

  • Bandaging Wounds From Another Promoted Stock Scam  [View article]
Got the,so-called,''special report'',in the mail recently.I have to admit it was a compelling presentation.I'm suspicious of a small cap,''one trick pony'',so having no other market based verification,I dismissed it.As the author mentioned,a development as promising as this is purported to be,would have no trouble interesting private capital,or a joint venture. The financial jungle of full of wild money eating beasts,so be careful out there.

  • Buy FutureFuel: The Right Time For The Right Stock  [View article]
Tough to go wrong on this baby.It had some hard times in the spring when talk was its government support may not be renewed in 2014.Then there was reassuring accounts that Washington was securely in FF's corner,as they are with most alternative fuel programs.I did sell in the spring, but have bought back in.I see FF as well managed and not a ''one trick pony''as the article brings out.Its close to 52 week highs and the target, but I believe FF has potential to go higher, and I'm not afraid to add shares.

  • Why The Recent Price Increase For YRC Worldwide Isn't Justified  [View article]
I agree with the author.Seems fishy to me that this stock is valued more than many proven solid equities that pay dividends. With this firms recent history with stockholders,I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole ! Their rolling stock, the bread and butter of the operation, hasn't been upgraded in years.James Welch is as capable as any trucking company executive, and he is doing a great job,but he inherited a firm that by most measures of economics, should have went bankrupt years ago.ABFS has been a well managed firm, but has had the unfair advantage of having to compete with YRCW that has been artificially propped up the last few years.Time will tell, lets see if YRCW rises into the ranks of a Catapillar,McDonalds,or a Boeing.

  • ConAgra EPS Beats Street But Don't Buy It  [View article]
I heard tales of woe when CAG bought Ralcorp, but I bought it anyway, and so far its one of my more solid plays. It works well in the food sector, and works with the dominant private player in the sector,Cargill.
