Interesting article but allow me to provide you a little "worm's eye view" perspective. My 8 yr old daughter has about 10 BABW animals at last count. Lord knows how many outfits & accessories she has. Many of her friends have several animals & multiple outfits. In fact, a lot of little girls prefer stuffed animals to dolls, particularly the Brittany Spears Bratz type dolls.
My point is that while some of the inital novelty of the concept has either worn off or been infringed upon by copycats BABW does have a niche. It is not as you assume a one time event. They have plenty of repeat business (and believe me those little outfits add up fast). Their business may not be as robust as when they first opened but I wouldn't count them down & out yet.
