Good article. I agree with topax. Corrruption in that region is a way of life. If you are an infidel, assume the worst.

How can you prosecute a politician for being a horse's ass? Chuckie has been doing this BIG MOUTH routine for years. Makes the late Jackie Gleason sound like an introverted mumbler.

The Disastrous Future of the U.S.
The largest disaster in our country is the public school system along with the Stalinist teacher unions. We can insure out way out of property losses. We cannot fund our way out of ignorance.

I appreciate your efforts on this topic, but perhaps your data is too compressed in time. I prefer to see cycles of at least twenty-five years or more. A century is even better.

Excellent Stocks When (If) Oil Hits $150
Brookfield has a large chunk of its real estate in the Houston and Calgary areas. WDR' s asset strategy is heavy into energy and materials.

Obtuse, but that's one reason CSFB is very good in this sector.

      Correlating Infrastructure
Lots to absorb. I read an article many years ago that bluntly stated that some fortunate individuals have a God-granted superior talent in a given discipline (such as Bobby Orr in hockey, or Manny Ramirez in baseball)and that the rest of us mortals may try to imitate them, but will never succeed. Roger has that talent, digging out investments and portfolio themes. I just sit back, admire his work, and think, WOW. Wish I could crunch the data as he does.

Investing in ETFs to Accommodate Change
I am saying that investor's should be aware of the rules and extent of taxation before making a move in their portfolio. The tax consequences of selling parts of an investment bought over different periods of time would likeky be taken out of the decision making process of the investor if inronclad lists were provided the IRS.

That is one of the points, along with some ideas for coping with increased taxation.

      Still driving your GEO, realist?

There was not a political statement in the post. If you were offended, check your political party affiliation. The author was talking about the importance of an Internatioal ex-US ETF, not the impotence of Panskeptic's toxic off-point remarks.

Economists Blast Ethanol, the 'Nicorette Gum of America's Oil Addiction'
Ethanol is a perfect example of harmful unintended consequences by the Gore minions and narrow special interests, primarily the environmental left. The responses to your post of the blindly naive pro-ethanol crowd will likely mirror some of those at my post criticizing ethanol months ago when it was not fashionable to state the obvious. These poor souls need some oil, coal and nuclear companies in their narrow portfolios. We need to read their words in posts carefully, so as not to fall victim to bumper-sticker intellect.

      E-Z Stealth ETF Portfolio
Response: I did certainly take pains to qualify this portfolio, but also know that no theory can predict the future. There is a little real estate exposure in the portfolio, although I agree you have to dig hard to find it. Perhaps if you read my posting(s) on real estate and my bio it will alert you that I am up to my yingyang in real estate and love it. For most investors, their home is all the real estate they want - and it is a big chunk of many total assets by default. Thanks for your comments.
