Allegiant Travel Did Not Fly on Earnings [View article]
I sold some at the recent high and bought some after the drop. My biggest worry is that the company may turn out to be another ValuJet. I mean it may not even be their fault but if they have any kind of an accident, the media will notice their old planes and bring up ValuJet. And that will be the end of Allegiant. I hope that doesn't happen.

Paul, you write an article like this about ITG every couple months. You must have accumulated a lot of this stock as it keeps dropping. Is that your plan?
Sorry the code on the site looks like a decoy to me (it is open-source - it's possible they made some changes to it but it's not their algo code). Perhaps the guy is honest. Though, he shouldn't have copied the code anyway - it belongs to the employer (GS).

I suspect they are all selling stock hand over fist while they still can. It's a better way to raise capital than to issue debt at 10.75% like MET just did. www.reuters.com/articl...

Paul, I like your ideas but I think you are over-estimating the gains while underestimating the risks. The problem is the potentially naked puts. You have to have enough cash to buy the shares if the market tanks. As a result, in the case of HD for example your cash outlay is 20K higher and the actual return is much lower: 5,660/34,520 = 16%
I suppose you could sell your shares to cover the puts but that wouldn't be enough (since the stock will be down) and the worst case return would also be lower.

Or they can just have a new car stimulus every year. Actually, now they may not have a choice there since no one in Germany will be buying new cars next year without a 'stimulus'.
