sounds like you just need some investment discipline. i mean, you listed two different instances where you took a small gain because of a "better" opp somewhere else only to completely miss the boat on what you had before.

churning your own portfolio just for the sake of 'chasing money' is NEVER going to work. seems like you do all kinds of research and then just abandon it. wtf good does that do?

    • Fed Cares More About Stock Market Than Inflation [view article]
i have to completely disagree with your perspective.

the fed was faced with some heavy pressure to make sure money kept flowing through the banking system. with all the write-downs from major banking institutions, there was a LOT of incentive to hold back on making payments.
the only way the fed could alleviate that pressure was to lower the rates and to lower them quickly and by high margins.

this is a similar situation to the S&L meltdown in that there was real business pressure to hold the flow of money rather than paying out. there are numerous other examples of this scenario.

were it not for the fed's recent moves, we would be at 10,000 on the dow, in the midst of a contracting economy and a plummeting dollar. even if there is a market correction and it could be protracted, we're certainly much better off than what you're alluding to.

    • My Guess: A 25 Point Fed Cut [view article]
i'm pretty sure that the fed may have executed a soft-landing. and it's brilliant. rather than being thrown head-frist into a recession as we probably should have been after the follies at cfc--and the rest of the crew--surfaced. but we haven't crashed. they've kept the monetary system flowing and the economy was actually able to grow last quarter. it should have contracted.
i'm unbelievably impressed w/ the fed right now. of course, i'm also waiting for a sustained turn around but it looks like it's in the making...time will tell.

hi, could you please conjugate your verbs correctly?
microsoft is a third person singular entity requiring such verb conjugation. note in the previous sentence i used "is" and not "are". it's extremely distracting and detracts from your analysis.
