Quant Easing: Central Banks Unleash the 'Nuclear' Option [View article]
Thank you for an excellent comprehensive analysis.
I just want to add that I am cautiously optimistic on the economy moving forward. When we get in a period like we are in it is always important to ask the question about what is in the governments best interest.
I concluded 6 months ago that the solution would be a round of inflation that would ease the debt crisis. This conclusion led me to purchase RE at auction in October and purchase commodity stocks and GLD through the end of last year. Those things helped balance my asset portfolio.
The truth that will not be publically admitted is we need inflation to restructure debt levels across the world. We may not like it but we will have inflation.
I dont suggest that you go out and convert everything to gold. What I am suggesting is a well rounded investment portfolio that includes at least 40% real assets such as RE, Oil and Mining stocks and GLD type investments. You can allocate the other 50% of the assets to a well diversified stock portfolio.
It is simple, the problem is too high a percentage of debt! How does that get resolved?
