      if you compare shld to its main competitors, JCP, KSS, M, even HD or Low, they are all down about 50% this year give or take a few point.

      now, who has the strongest balance sheet of the lot? SHLD by a mile..

      the others are loaded with debt and have almost no cash. that being said, shld will weather any downturn far better than the others....

      do not forget the magically shrinking share count... when retail turns as it will for all of them, SHLD's eps will explode

      it is about conveniences. an example, i have 3 kids under 4, i will not take them inside because there is just too much for them to get into.

      i would stop at the drive thru.... for those inside, cleaner less crowded stores would be much better

      the algae is very encouraging and being used for biodiesel currently. i believe it is just very expensive right now but the potential for it is huge...

      the h2o used depends on the process. for biodiesel, the water used is far less than ethanol. even at that, the h2o used for ethanol has dropped dramtically even in the last two years

      51%of S&P earnings come from international ops...

      of the 49% that is the us, only about 20% of that is US housing related. The housing sector will see pain. the rest will be fine..
