    • Salesforce.com: Ticking Time Bomb [view article]
The only thing that warrants such a high price is their current position in the SaaS market, but let's not forget that they generate less than 40% of the total SaaS CRM revenues since there are many other rivals such as Netsuite, Salesboom.com, RightNow, Entellium and others.

This in my opinion was a cheap shot by SFDC to get the most out of the stock for now, because in a year, no one will pay a price with a P/E of 580!

    • RightNow Proves 'Software as a Service' Isn't Perfect [view article]
For a saas company to miss expectations is one thing and implying that the model is in trouble is another. First RightNow is only one company in the CRM SaaS space and there are others such as Salesforce.com, Netsuite, Salesboom.com, etc.

Second, these vendors are in a growth mode and are spending huge amounts of money on sales and marketing to gain market share from the big vendors such as Oracle and SAP.

Third, the SaaS model is pay-as-you-go, therefore it takes 2-3 years for customers to pay off but then it is pure gravy.

The growth potential for on-demand CRM is unbelievably high. Only 10% of total CRM spending is on on-demand CRM. Let's also remember that maybe less than 10% of the millions of small businesses around the world use software-as-a-service CRM!

Companies offering hosted CRM solutions such as Salesforce.com, Netsuite, RightNow and Salesboom.com will grow tremendously in 2008

    • New Rivals May Torment Salesforce.com and Concur - Barron's [view article]
Actually all these companies compete against each other! Maybe Concur does not have SFA, but Salesforce.com does have expense reporting to some degree, and Netsuite does have SFA and CRM and Accounting, etc.

I believe dozens of new rivals will go public including companies such as Salesboom.com and Entellium
