  • Why Apple Has Risen from a Technical Analysis Perspective [View article]
Good point.... In fact, the fundies that downplay technical analysis really don;t understand that TA is a means of viewing market direction. Fundamentals are just guesses as to the future value of a company (note I didn't say stock as the value of a stock often does not track the company..) based on what returns are **expected** in the future. If that isn't reading goat entrails, I don;t know what is.... At least TA provides reasonable entry and exits.

  • Tech Bellwethers Looking Cheap? [View article]
Pardon me if this comes across as macabre, but I think you could consider AAPl as the 'Steve Jobs Health Chart'. Too much focus on his well being and not enough on the value of the company.

  • Apple's (the Stock) Best Days May be Behind It - Try Thoratec Instead [View article]
Boy! You sure are taking your life in your hands! Don't you know you aren't supposed to say anything bad about the 'Holy Trinity"; AAPL, POT and GE. The mobs will storm your castle by torchlight! Be warned!!

Anyway. You are right. Good stocks become old tired stocks. They may not lie down and die right then, but they develop an odor. Nice article.

  • What To Do in 2009 [View article]
That's all the good news. The bad news however is that we still have a glut of homes on the market, repos are still occurring, more businesses are shutting their doors, unemployment is higher and looks to be going higher still. About 1/3 of the States in the US are reporting major funding issues (I live in Kalee-four-neeah! - We're number one! We're number one!) Food is rising again ($4.59 for a bag of bagels that cost me $2.59 2 weeks ago... Right!), Looks like a commercial real-estate collapse is right around the corner. Meredith Whitney says that the banks will be lining up in a month or two for a complete new round of TARP handouts. The big three should easily run through their first go-around in the next two months and car sales are dropping like rocks. China has apparently decided not to do the right thing and jump start the world's economy.... I could go on....

So who exactly is jumping up and down with joy over the price of gas..(Forgot to mention... Gas was $1.69 last week and now it's $2.01... Go figure... ) ..

The future doesn't look bright... With or without shades.. Or rose colored glasses.

    Boy! Do I pity Obama....

  • Apple Analysts Reality Check: Bear Rally Is Over [View article]
Well... I guess you learned your lesson.... You don't bad mouth Jesus and you don't hint at contrary opinions on AAPL or POT..... I have visions of you being chased up a darkened hill towards a castle as an angry torch-bearing crowd chases....

C'mon guys! These are stocks, not your children.... Geez!

  • How Do We Make Gains in This Market of Uncertainty?  [View article]
You are so wrong.... I made $3800 last week day trading technicals. It's my long positions and my 'professionally managed funds' that are killing me...

  • Is Jim Cramer Right? Is Apple Really a Market Barometer? [View article]
I suspect he was trying to say that AAPL was a bellweather in the same vein as Alcoa or GE. I n essence, it's easier for most people (not investors) to keep an eye on a large 'in the news' firm than it is to pay attention to teh gyrations of the market on a daily basis. Clearly though, when it was rumored that Jobs was sick and APPL tanked, the market didn't really go into a nose dive along with it. Nasdaq took a sympathetic hit.

You want to know what's going on with the market, watch the dollar index. As the strength of the dollar has increased, the VIX has increased and the markets have tanked. Just about everything I look at these days either is in lockstep with the dollar/VIX or its inverse. Simplest thing to do is play the ultra ETFs and not get racked back and forth with individual stocks.

In fact, all my charts now have a lower indicator, the MA10 and MA20 VIX.

... And then there was the article in the SF Chronicle advising that Broadcom and other parts suppliers to the IPhone may get a hit as IPhone sales are down more than expected and Apple is slowing their orders.

  • NVIDIA Chosen for New MacBooks: Verdict and Prospects [View article]
If this is going to be a bad Xmas season for Apple, and as it is pretty well accepted that Apple normally works a goo deal for themsleves (consider the AT&T deal) leaving everyone else to fend for themslelves, then does this bode well for NVDIA .... Doesn't look like it to me...

Disclosure : Got stopped out of NVDA twice in the past year... At much higher values.

  • The Consumer Spending Slowdown Catches Apple [View article]
I'm no Apple fanatic, but I do have $12K of stock and some April 09 Calls. There never seems to be a middle ground in Apple articles. Either, or stock holdings will ascend to the right side of God, or, conversely, we'll be stoking the fires of Hell with them. My guess is that it really depends upon Dubya's posse. They either get credit back on track and inspire confidence, or they don't . And I mean soon. The failure of our seated CEO to rally his troops to push his bill through Congress cost the equity market 777 points. This is not a good indicator and we still have a ways to go before we hit the magic 10,000 DOW mark. If they do, we may actually have an OK Christmas and I'd expect AAPL to rally a bit. If they don't and we keep running up the unemployment numbers, businesses can't get credit and foreign markets are doing anything either, then I expect AAPL to tank some more. Time for a double shot of scotch!!!

  • Apple: Though Tempted, I Wouldn't Bite Just Yet [View article]
turkeyeyes.... According to shortsqueeze.com, the short float is only 2.95% ... That's nothing. I think I'd be inclined to **blame** hedge funds cashing out for all the reasons that have already been mentioned.
