I recognized Vornado as a primarily office style REIT. A quick check of the other names listed on Yahoo Finance produced the following:
VNO - is mainly office and warehouse SPG - is a mall style REIT CBL - is a mall REIT MAC - is a a shopping center REIT BXP - Variety REIT. Offices and parking, 1 hotel and 3 retail units. BPO - Office REIT
Clearly, reading Ms. Weil's posts requires due diligence on the part of the reader.
However. in my book, all REITS are suspect presently anyway, whether or not they are associated with retail. Clearly office's will face vacancies due to business closure and layoffs and you have to ask who's going to be parking in those spaces when shopping and business dries up..
