  • Buy Natural Gas - Cramer's Lightning Round (8/1/08 [View article]
Actually, if you check the Hulbert report, Cramer is right up there with most successful investors. (Beat out marginally by Tobin Smith, who in my opinion is just a big gas-bag... But there you go..) At any rate, It has been stated many times that a success rate of about 50% will produce winning results if you manage your losses. Cramer actually is a winner. He is also 'entertainment', but really has pulled the common man into the investment world. Whether or not he misses on your favorite stock is immaterial.

If I were going to fault him, it would be in that he does not provide beginning investors precise information on when to buy, where to place your stops and when to get out. For that, I suspect, you'd need to be more involved in the technicals side of things. Cramer is decidedly not into technicals. This is where uninformed investors will really lose their shirts as the buy all the way down and confuse momentary excitement with a real price turn.

  • Second Quarter Earnings Expectations [View article]
These guys are good... I read their articles consistently. They do not spread gloom and doom.. In fact most complaints are they don't draw conclusions.... Works for me.. "Jus the fax Ma'am. Nuttin' but the fax!"

  • Geothermal Energy Sources 101 [View article]
I'm fascinated that Hawaii doesn't consider this possibility .. Lets face it, they have volcanoes and plenty of water... In fact the Big Island is ripping their hair out discussing a 'garbage incinerator' to produce electricity from their waste. At present, the electrical needs are furnished by importing fossil fuels.... Seems a no-brainer to me. Combine the waste burner and geothermal and discontinue the fossil fuels.

  • Dollar Doldrums Will Soon Be History - Barron's [View article]
"CrossingtheT" ... Just a note... Lots of large oil companies are not looking for oil any longer... In fact many of the larger companies are buying back their shares at a good clip, rather than explore... Not sure exactly what it means.. Could be that they expect a Dem in office who will milk their profits, or could be that they are suffering under a restricted crack-spread .. Or, maybe they just want to see oil go higher, Or??? Anyway.. It's indicative of something...

    Thx jegan
