  • New German coalition government would keep fracking ban [View news story]
A rather anemic list of outrages, I'd say, caused or "suspected" of being caused by a technique in use since the 1960's. Don't let that change your position controllers. Perhaps some of the extravagant allegations of the environmental bar or "investigators" will eventually prove true after all.

Aren't we lucky that the controllers weren't in a position to demand absolute, 100% assurance of safety and no negative outcomes from such things as electricity, rail and air travel and almost any technological advancement that we take for granted today.

  • New German coalition government would keep fracking ban [View news story]
When the Turks and Arabs repopulate Germany, their familiarity comfort with oil and gas production will eventually lead that country to adopt a wiser policy. Its simply a fact that there has been no instance of hydraulic fracking contaminating ground water, however that might disappoint the enviro-fascists and control freaks.

  • After five days of deliberation, the Senate Judiciary Committee puts its final stamp of approval on the immigration reform bill, setting up a debate on the Senate floor for early June. Three Republicans and ten Democrats voted to support the bill, which would create a pathway to citizenship for nearly 11M undocumented immigrants, invest billions in new border security measures and overhaul the legal immigration system. [View news story]
Nemo please don't lose one moment of sleep over this wretched legislation. It is DOA in the House.

As a replacement the Republican majority in the House will split this immigration issue up into various digestible parts and pass separate pieces of legislation regarding each part few of which will be acceptable to the liberal majority in the Senate. That should take care of immigration for this Congress.

  • Carbonite (CARB) CEO David Friend admits the decision to withdraw from sponsoring the Rush Limbaugh show after the radio host called a woman a "slut" on the air didn't pay off for shareholders. The comments by the owner of Chick-fil-A has resulted in sharply increased business as Americans rushed to patronized their nearest location to face-down intimidation from leftists and assert their support for the First Amendment.

Hopefully executives notice that pleasing conservatives is good business.

Good to see that timid businessmen with spines of pabulum pay a price in the only place that matters to them, the bottom line.

  • The debate on Chick-fil-A's unofficial stance on same-sex marriage keeps getting ratcheted up by politicians and activists from both sides pandering to crowds. While seemingly only a minor event a week ago, the large crowds gathering inside and outside of the chain's restaurants day after day has caught the eyes of at least a few restaurant analysts wondering if the flareup could affect U.S. sales at rivals MCD, WEN, and BKW[View news story]
There's something to be said for an individual who doesn't underestimate his abilities. For example, to ascribe the motivations of "hordes of people lining up to get their fast food. . ." of whom he knows hardly anyone, that's positively awesome.

Or maybe that is just another example of D_Va. "being hyperbolic." No matter, liberals' need a cause and they are used to getting their way, and their way beomes the politicaly correct way and anyone pushing back can expect to be called names and abused.

Maybe, just maybe, this time will be different.
